The State of Play presentation began with a first look at gameplay from Housemarque’s *Saros*. Building on their previous game, *Returnal*, *Saros* is another roguelite, third-person shooter, but this time takes place on the planet Carcosa and stars a new character, Arjun Devraj. You can watch the gameplay footage below.
Expect the fast-paced action you love, but with some exciting additions. The new Soltari Shield lets you hold R1 to create a protective barrier, and if you absorb enough damage, you can unleash a powerful counterattack. You’ll also uncover more about the mysterious Carcosa group by finding Holotag Caches, though you’ll face some tough enemies along the way – including a flying opponent that attacks with a barrage of projectiles.
Second Chance lets you revive after being defeated, giving Arjun a boost in power when he returns. You’ll need to progress through the game to unlock this ability, similar to how Death Defiance works in *Hades*. The game’s latest trailer concludes with a showdown against the same powerful, multi-armed enemy we saw in the first trailer.
I’m super excited to announce that *Saros* is coming to PS5 on March 20th, 2026! And it’ll even take advantage of the extra power of the PS5 Pro. They’re holding back some details about the characters and the story for the launch, so I’ll be keeping an eye out for more info and will let you know as soon as it’s available!
