With the Summer 2025 anime season wrapping up, it’s time to preview the upcoming Fall 2025 lineup. This year has been fantastic for anime fans, with each season delivering several popular series that will likely contend for ‘best of the year’ awards. And based on what we’ve seen, the Fall season looks just as promising!
This fall’s anime lineup is full of both returning favorites – including one long-running series that’s nearing its conclusion after ten years – and exciting new shows based on popular manga and light novels. Starting this October, platforms like Netflix, Crunchyroll, Hulu, and HIDIVE will be releasing a lot of new anime, and here are ten of the biggest titles you won’t want to miss.
10.) To Your Eternity Season 3
Release Date: October 4th (Crunchyroll)
I’ve been really impressed with *To Your Eternity*, the latest work from the creator of *A Silent Voice*. Even though it’s already three seasons in, it still feels incredibly unique – I honestly haven’t seen anything quite like it. In the third season, we continue to follow Fushi as he experiences another period of history and learns more about what it means to be human, and it looks like things are about to get even more emotionally powerful. The first two seasons were absolutely beautiful to watch, and I expect these new episodes will be just as stunning.
9.) My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha: Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon, I’m Out for Revenge!
Release Date: October 3rd (HIDIVE)
As with every season, several new Isekai anime are on the way. This one, *My Gift Lv999 Unlimited Gacha*, is part of the popular revenge fantasy subgenre, but it’s grabbing attention thanks to its exceptionally long title. Fans of the source material have eagerly awaited this adaptation, excited to see its incredibly powerful characters brought to life. Hopefully, the anime will live up to their expectations when it debuts.
8.) My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s
Release Date: October 6th (Crunchyroll)
Many ‘isekai’ stories focus on revenge, but *My Status as an Assassin* offers a fresh approach. Like other stories of a class transported to another world, this one centers on a previously overlooked student who discovers a disturbing secret about the kingdom that summoned them. Alongside an adorable elf companion, the series promises a darker fantasy experience. It stands out visually from similar revenge-focused stories, and the protagonist’s skills as an assassin should lead to exciting action sequences.
7.) Star Wars: Visions Season 3
Release Date: October 29th (Disney+)
Disney+’s *Star Wars: Visions* has been a fantastic success. The first two seasons of this short-form series have delighted anime fans and broadened the *Star Wars* universe in exciting ways. The upcoming third season looks even more promising! It will continue some of the stories we’ve already seen and introduce brand new shorts created by well-known anime studios, including David Production, Kamikaze Douga, TRIGGER, Production I.G., ANIMA, Kinema Citrus, Project Studio Q, Polygon Pictures, and WIT Studio. If you enjoy *Star Wars* and anime, this series is definitely worth watching.
6.) Ranma 1/2 Season 2
Release Date: October 4th (Netflix)
Rumiko Takahashi’s beloved manga series are getting exciting anime remakes, and so far, they’ve all been hits. The return of *Ranma 1/2* was particularly successful, breathing new life into the original while making it feel current. The second season promises to build on that momentum with even more characters, plenty of romantic complications, and the same timeless humor – all looking great in animation, just like the first season.
5.) Digimon Beatbreak
Release Date: October 5th (Hulu)
After finishing its 25th anniversary celebration and the conclusion of *Digimon Ghost Game*, the *Digimon* franchise is launching a fresh start with *Digimon Beatbreak*. This new series feels like a bold new direction, with characters and their Digimon partners sporting darker, more intense designs. It promises a more gripping and mature *Digimon* experience than recent installments – something fans have been hoping for. If you’re a fan of *Digimon*, this is one to watch!
4.) Sanda
Release Date: October 4th (Prime Video)
This fall’s anime lineup includes a truly unique series that’s perfectly timed for the holidays. Created by the author of *Beastars* and animated by the studio behind *DAN DA DAN* and *Scott Pilgrim Takes Off*, the show centers around a child who gains the power to transform into a powerful Santa Claus. In a world where Christmas has been forgotten, this Santa must literally fight to restore the Christmas spirit. Based on early looks and promotional materials, it promises to be a fun and exciting ride, and hopefully it lives up to the hype!
3.) One-Punch Man Season 3
Release Date: October 12th in Japan (Release Date TBD Hulu)
I’m really keeping an eye on *One-Punch Man* Season 3. The first season was incredible when it came out ten years ago, but the second season disappointed a lot of fans. Now, the same team is working on the third season, and we haven’t seen much footage yet. I’m hoping they’re taking their time to make it as good as possible, and I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Either way, it feels like *One-Punch Man* Season 3 is going to be a must-watch for anime fans this fall.
2.) Spy x Family Season 3
Release Date: October 4th (Crunchyroll, Hulu)
Fans are eagerly anticipating the third season of *Spy x Family*. Based on Tatsuya Endo’s popular manga, the anime quickly became a hit, with two seasons and a movie already released. Season 3 will continue the Forger family’s adventures, and will also delve into Loid’s hidden past and give Anya a more central role. Considering how much fans loved the first two seasons, expectations are high – but it’s sure to be a thoroughly enjoyable watch.
1.) My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON
Release Date: October 4th (Crunchyroll Hulu)
This fall, the anime *My Hero Academia* is generating the most excitement. After nearly ten years and eight seasons, the series is reaching its conclusion. Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, has faced incredible challenges during his first year as a hero, and now he must battle Tomura Shigaraki and All For One in a final showdown that will determine the fate of Japan. This epic conclusion is the culmination of everything Deku-and the anime’s creators-have been working towards.
Fans have consistently praised this anime for its stunning visuals and how it brings important scenes to life. However, the final season promises to be even more spectacular. The creators are expected to deliver a truly memorable conclusion, and you won’t want to miss seeing how the story wraps up.
