Capcom just finished its Tokyo Game Show 2025 presentation on YouTube, and Xbox fans have a lot to be excited about! The showcase included a wide range of games, from major upcoming titles to mobile exclusives – it really had something for everyone. Let’s take a look at the trailers and announcements.
Pragmata
Capcom started its presentation by giving a more detailed look at Pragmata. The new video showed both story scenes and actual gameplay, highlighting combat that features hacking, different weapons, and ways to improve them. It appears to be an enjoyable mix of action and strategic thinking, and there’s still more to learn as the game is developed.
Pragmata will release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2026. Players attending the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) will have a chance to try out a playable demo.
Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection
Following the announcement of Pragmata, Capcom also unveiled the Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection. Although I personally preferred the Battle Network series, this collection is a fantastic tribute to fans of Star Force. It features updated visuals with a high-resolution filter, a music player to enjoy the game’s soundtrack, and a gallery containing over 1,000 images, plus other extras.
Capcom has updated the game with features like assist modes and adjustable difficulty levels, and has also added special cards previously only available through limited-time events. Players who like to compete can enjoy online player-versus-player battles, with options for both relaxed and competitive matches.
The collection launches in 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
Resident Evil Requiem
Capcom’s showcase featured a highly anticipated look at Resident Evil Requiem. While they reminded everyone it’s coming out on February 26, 2025, they didn’t share many new details. However, a new trailer is now available to watch.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
After the Resident Evil presentation, Capcom really grabbed my attention with a new story trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword. I was excited to see more of it – it was first teased at The Game Awards last year! The game looks incredible, set in a really atmospheric, dark take on Kyoto, and you play as the famous swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. I’m definitely keeping an eye on this one.
Musashi has received the Oni Gauntlet, a powerful magical item, and now sets out on a quest to break free from its influence. This new game promises a unique action-adventure experience, and it’s the first major installment in the Onimusha series since 2006’s Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams.
I’m really excited – Onimusha: Way of the Sword is officially coming in 2026! It’s planned for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, so there’ll be plenty of ways to play. I’ve been waiting for a new Onimusha for ages!
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection
I was really surprised to see the announcement at TGS – Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is going to be available on more platforms than ever before! The previous games in the Stories series were mostly just on Switch or PC, but this one’s coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and of course, PC as well.
Stories 3 introduces a unique pair of twin Rathalos, hatched from the same egg – a series first! You play as the sole Rathalos Rider of Azuria, navigating a world where kingdoms are falling apart.
As a researcher following the Monster Hunter series, I’m excited to share that Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection will be released on March 13, 2026. For those eager to try it out, a playable demo will be available at Tokyo Game Show this year.
Game updates, expansions and mobile exclusives
Monster Hunter fans have even more to anticipate! This year, Monster Hunter Wilds will get two significant updates.
As an analyst, I’m excited to share that Title Update 3 is scheduled to release on September 29, 2025. The big news is a crossover with Final Fantasy XIV – we’re getting iconic Dark Knight armor and weapons added to the game. Players can also look forward to challenging new boss encounters featuring Omega, and a really interesting adaptation – the Pictomancer job, reimagined for the Wilds.
I’m excited to share that we’re planning Title Update 4 for December 2025! It’s going to bring back Gogmazios, a really memorable elder dragon from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. This update will also include some challenging new content specifically designed for players who have already experienced a lot of the game.
As a big Street Fighter 6 player, I’m really excited about what’s coming in Year 3! They just announced C. Viper is joining the fight on October 15th, 2025 – it’s awesome to have her unique, gadget-based style back in the series. And that’s not all – there’s a cool Banshee’s Last Cry crossover coming with the update, bringing a brand new game mode and some sweet cosmetic items. Can’t wait!
Good news for fans! The Ace Attorney Trilogy is receiving a free update packed with new features. Players can now enjoy a gallery mode, a music player, and a fun scene creator. The update also includes helpful improvements like an episode selector and a story mode that can automatically solve puzzles, making the game more accessible and relaxing.
Capcom announced two new mobile games. Monster Hunter Outlanders is a new open-world game in the Monster Hunter series made specifically for phones, and a closed beta test will begin in November 2025. Resident Evil: Survival Unit is a mobile game focusing on the classic survival horror experience of the Resident Evil franchise.
What Xbox is missing out on
Xbox fans have something to celebrate: only one game won’t be available on the platform. It’s still disappointing, though, when a game you’d expect to play on Xbox isn’t released there, often because of exclusive agreements or other reasons.
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is a new release bringing together eight beloved, older fighting games. It’s coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and PC, but unfortunately won’t be available on Xbox.
Capcom had a great showing this year, especially with the announcement of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection coming to Xbox. This is the first time a game in the Monster Hunter Stories series will be available on that platform, which was a welcome surprise for fans.
