The newest part of the series will start streaming on Disney+ on October 29, 2025. It brings back popular characters Ronin from “The Duel,” F from “The Village Bride,” and Lah Kara from “The Ninth Jedi.” The show is created using Japanese animation styles and features work from several studios, including david production, Kamikaze Douga + ANIMA, Kinema citrus, and Polygon Pictures.
Several renowned animation studios, including Production I.G, Project Studio Q, TRIGGER, and WIT Studio, are also working on the series. Both English and Japanese trailers are now available to watch online. Disney explains that “Star Wars: Visions” aims to showcase the Star Wars universe through fresh, diverse cultural perspectives.
Volume 3 features a talented cast including Anna Sawai, Freddie Highmore, George Takei, Harvey Guillén, Jodie Turner-Smith, Judith Light, Simu Liu, Stephanie Hsu, and Steve Buscemi. James Waugh, Josh Rimes, and Jacqui Lopez are executive producers, and Justin Leach is co-executive producer.
This collection of shorts features several exciting stories. “The Duel: Payback” from Kamikaze Douga + ANIMA pits a Ronin against a Grand Master, while Project Studio Q’s “The Song of Four Wings” centers on a rebellious princess. Production I.G presents “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope,” where Kara meets an enigmatic droid. WIT Studio offers “The Bounty Hunters,” following a lone hunter and her robotic companion. Kinema Citrus brings us “Yuko’s Treasure” and “The Lost Ones.” TRIGGER introduces “The Smuggler,” Polygon Pictures delivers “The Bird of Paradise,” and david production explores a story called “BLACK.”
Star Wars: Visions first launched in 2021 with its first volume, which included the Emmy-nominated short film “The Duel.” A second volume followed in 2023, featuring animation from studios around the world. Now, Volume 3 is back with a focus on Japanese creators, continuing the series’ partnership with top anime studios.
