We May Know When the DCU’s Batman Movie Will Release

However, because that film exists in its own separate world, there’s another Batman movie in the works as part of the new DC Universe. DC Studios is developing *The Brave and the Bold*, which will focus on the dynamic between an older Bruce Wayne and his son, Damian. Viewers are excited to see this version of Batman come to life (he already made a brief appearance in the animated *Creature Commandos*), and now we may have a better idea of when it will happen.

So, there’s been a lot of chatter online about *The Brave and the Bold* possibly being delayed until 2030 or 2031, and I just saw James Gunn address it directly on Threads. Someone asked him if that distant release window was the plan, and he gave a pretty straightforward “No.” He didn’t reveal *when* we can actually expect the film, but his response definitely suggests it won’t be *that* far off. It’s good news for fans who were worried about a massive delay, and it gives us a little hope that the film is still on track for a more reasonable release date.

When Could The Brave and the Bold Release?

While DC Studios hasn’t announced a release date for *The Brave and the Bold*, James Gunn has given some hints. He’s said he wants to avoid releasing it in the same year as *The Batman Part II* to prevent audience confusion. Considering *The Batman Part II* is expected in 2027 and a release in the 2030s feels far off, *The Brave and the Bold* is now likely to come out in either 2028 or 2029.

The exact release year is uncertain and depends on how long it takes to finish the script for *The Brave and the Bold*.
