TGS 2025 concludes with 263,101 visitors; TGS 2026 set for September 17 to 21

Tokyo Game Show 2025, held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan from September 25th to 28th, wrapped up on Sunday with a total of 263,101 attendees, according to the event organizers, the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association.

I’m so excited! They just announced the dates for Tokyo Game Show 2026 – it’s going to be from September 17th to the 21st! What’s really cool is that it’ll be a five-day event for the very first time ever. And good news for those of us who love going – it’s still going to be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba.

Tokyo Game Show 2025, themed “Unlimited, Neverending Playground,” broke records with 1,136 exhibitors from 47 countries. The event, held at Makuhari Messe, showcased a huge variety of new games for consoles, PCs, smartphones, and virtual reality headsets.

The exhibition also featured a wide variety of gaming-related products, services, and solutions, highlighting how the industry is growing and changing.

Tokyo Game Show featured a range of events, such as a keynote speech, the Japan Game Awards 2025 Future Division ceremony, and a new lecture series called Top Game Creators Academy, created with the Agency for Cultural Affairs and the Japan Arts Council. These events aimed to provide helpful advice and guidance for those hoping to build careers in the gaming world.

There was a lot of business activity at the show, with the official matchmaking system scheduling 3,591 meetings. Online, the event was streamed on platforms like YouTube, X, Twitch, and Niconico, featuring 21 official programs.
