In a display of his usual bravado, Anakin Skywalker never missed an opportunity to boast about his skills. However, one moment truly epitomizes this trait when it comes to aura mining – let’s be honest, he loved to show off quite excessively. With an unshakable confidence in his abilities, Anakin often opted for extravagant schemes that only the Chosen One could possibly execute.
He consistently retained that habit, and Disney’s Star Wars series in particular has offered Darth Vader some extraordinary instances of force-gathering. The “Vader Down” comic book arc had him confront an army of rebels, and he boldly proclaimed himself surrounded by “fear and the fallen.” However, I’m not sure anything can surpass one awe-inspiring scene from Star Wars Rebels.
Darth Vader’s Ultimate Entrance Is… Just So Very Extra
But Still Kinda Epic

In the season 2 finale of Rebels, titled “Twilight of the Apprentice”, Darth Vader makes an appearance on Malachor, challenging Ezra Bridger and aiming to seize the Sith holocron. However, as noted by QG Jenna (@QuiGonJenna) on X , it seems there’s no practical reason for Darth Vader to have arrived on a TIE fighter for such an impressive entrance.
It’s undeniable that Vader’s entrance was impressive, but it was both unnecessary and unrealistic. Think about the instructions he must have given to his pilot; “hover close by, I want to stand on your TIE.” Although Darth Vader is not someone you can refuse, the very thought of that being an order is quite amusing.
Anakin Skywalker Really Was There All Along
Even If Vader Tried To Erase Him

This instance in Rebels demonstrates that the theatrical style of entry which was characteristic of Anakin Skywalker, persisted even after his transformation into Darth Vader.
Or more casually: This scene from Rebels shows that Anakin Skywalker’s love for grand entrances didn’t fade when he turned into Darth Vader.
Throughout the story, we’ve noticed that Vader resembled Anakin prior to their transformation. This suggests that despite Vader claiming to Obi-Wan Kenobi that Anakin was dead and he had killed him, certain characteristics of Anakin lingered on. These subtle reminders serve as a reminder and emphasize the fact that Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader are essentially one and the same individual.
As a devoted fan, it’s undeniable that Darth Vader excels at aura-farming like no other in the Star Wars universe. Delving deeper into his character reveals even richer connections. After all, who else but Vader would perch atop a TIE fighter for an epic entrance? Yet, we must admit, he looked incredibly imposing during his appearance in Rebels.
