Paul Simon is on the road to recovery.
Following a series of days where intense back discomfort compelled the “Graceland” vocalist to scrap two performances in his A Quiet Celebration Tour, his team offered an encouraging message instead.
This past week, Paul Simon had a surgical treatment to ease long-standing back discomfort, as stated on his Instagram post dated July 3rd. Fortunately, thanks to an exceptional medical team, the operation progressed smoothly, just as anticipated.
To allow for additional recovery time, the “Kodachrome” performer’s July 7 concert originally scheduled at The Terrace Theater in Long Beach, California, has been rescheduled to July 8 instead.
It’s apparent that an extra day of rest and recovery is necessary for him to perform optimally in Long Beach. We apologize for any disruption this might cause, but Paul is eager to meet everyone.
Four days later, we received this update, as the renowned musician had unexpectedly called off two performances scheduled at Philadelphia’s Academy of Music because of health issues.
According to an Instagram post dated June 30, “Paul has been dealing with persistent, severe back pain for some time. Today, the pain became too much and required urgent care. We’re optimistic that a minor surgery, which will be performed in the coming days, will allow him to finish the tour and reschedule the missed dates.

Simon shared, “I’m narrowing down my collection and opting for acoustic versions instead. It’s become more subdued overall.” He added, “I believe creativity isn’t hindered by limitations. So far, I haven’t felt that limitation, and I certainly don’t want to.

To clarify, let me assure you that I don’t intend to sound arrogant, but approximately two or three weeks ago, I was performing squats with around 295 pounds. At present, I’m unable to do a squat even using both legs. If I attempt a one-legged squat, I lose balance. It’s as if I’ve experienced some sort of minor stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Although the internet can sometimes be harsh, Amy Schumer is grateful that this time it provided her with valuable insights. As she reflected on a 2025 episode of Call Her Daddy, Amy humorously remarked about her changed appearance, “Everybody, take it easy!” However, medical professionals chimed in with comments suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome due to elevated cortisol levels or steroid injections. Upon realizing that she had been receiving steroid injections for her scars, Amy suspected that this could be the cause of her condition. She had undergone a breast reduction and a C-section, among other procedures. After being trolled by doctors, Amy was eventually diagnosed with a form of Cushing syndrome. Later, Hailey went to the University of California, Los Angeles, where they discovered a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). She explained that the blood clot had travelled into her heart through this hole and escaped to her brain, leading to the TIA.
Hailey underwent a successful PFO closure procedure and is now feeling well.
2022 was a challenging year for me, as the same year my beloved Justin Bieber faced a health scare of his own. In June, the “Baby” singer revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, a condition that temporarily paralyzed parts of his face and led to the cancellation of the rest of his Justice World Tour.
In an Instagram video, Justin explained, “This virus has attacked the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves, causing paralysis on this side of my face.” As you can see, one eye didn’t blink, he couldn’t smile from one side of his face, and that nostril wouldn’t move – full paralysis on one side. He also mentioned that eating had become increasingly difficult for him. However, the paralysis eventually subsided.
Hailey shared during a June 2022 episode of Good Morning America that Justin was doing much better and feeling a lot better, despite the sudden and scary situation. She expressed her gratitude that he was okay in the end.

Following a surgery on the 20th day, Foxx woke up on May 4 in a wheelchair and was unable to walk. He subsequently moved to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.
