Tim Curry is doing the time warp back to his Rocky Horror days.
The 79-year-old actor unexpectedly appeared in public, joining Rocky Horror Picture Show co-stars Patricia Quinn, Barry Bostwick, and Nell Campbell, along with producer Lou Adler, at a celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the beloved film on September 26th at the Academy Museum.
Tim-who experienced partial paralysis following a stroke in 2012-was in his wheelchair while taking pictures with his fellow actors. He was dressed in a smooth, dark blue button-down shirt, dark pants, and black loafers.
The actor, originally from the U.K., first played Dr. Frank-N-Furter on stage and in the movie. During the event, he shared his memories of being involved with the famous 1975 horror musical.
As a huge fan, I was really struck by what Tim said onstage, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. He hit the nail on the head when he talked about the film’s core message-“don’t dream it, be it”-it’s something I’ve always taken to heart. What I especially loved about his take is that he feels the movie actually gives us permission to be ourselves, flaws and all, and to act however we truly want, with whomever we choose. And honestly? I’m right there with him – I’m incredibly proud of that aspect of the film too.
The Clue actor also shared that it’s “very meaningful” to him to know the show’s message has resonated with the LGBTQ+ community, especially.
Although he initially worried that his unusual first film role might hinder his career, he realized it wasn’t as problematic as he’d feared.
“I was genuinely concerned it would be tough, but it turned out not to be,” he remembered, explaining that when director Stephen Frears contacted him about the film Three Men in a Boat, the conversation went something like this: “I asked, ‘Why do you think I’m suitable to play a Victorian bank clerk?’ and he replied, ‘If you could play Frank-N-Furter, you can play absolutely anything.’”

He still has his signature sense of humor, but when it comes to his health, he explained that ever since the frightening health issue in 2012-which caught him completely off guard, as the stroke happened while he was getting a massage and he didn’t even realize anything was wrong until the masseuse pointed it out-he’s no longer able to do the energetic moves he once could, like a jump to the left or a step to the right. It was a complete surprise.
“I’m still unable to walk, and that’s why I’m using this wheelchair – it really restricts what I can do,” he explained. “Because of that, I won’t be singing or dancing anytime soon.”
He still has his signature sense of humor, but his physical health has changed. He explained that the 2012 health scare – which came as a complete surprise, as the stroke happened during a massage and he “didn’t even actually notice anything” until the masseuse pointed it out – means he can’t perform his famous moves, like a jump to the left or a step to the right, anymore.
He explained that his inability to walk, and needing to use a chair, was really holding him back. “So I won’t be singing and I won’t be dancing very soon,” he said.

The former star of Total Bellas shared that one of her breast implants moved after being hit in the chest by Piper Niven, another WWE wrestler, during a match in July 2025.
“It’s OK,” she reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, back then. “We’ll get it fixed eventually. I explained to the doctor, ‘Now that I’m newly divorced, as soon as I retire, I’ll come back to you and we’ll make these horses look fantastic, because they’re going to be competing again soon, and they can’t look like this.’”

Oh my gosh, I was so heartbroken to learn that 12 Years a Slave‘s Lupita Nyong’o was diagnosed with uterine fibroids back in 2014! It’s just… these are non-cancerous growths that happen in or around the uterus, and it was the very same year she won her Oscar for that incredible performance! I mean, can you believe it? She was dealing with this while becoming an Academy Award winner! It’s just… amazing and so sad all at once.
She didn’t reveal her condition until 2025, sharing on Instagram that she had been “suffering in silence” for over ten years.
She explained that when girls hit puberty, they’re often told that periods are supposed to be painful, and that this pain is just an unavoidable part of being female. She added, “We often deal with this struggle on our own, even though it affects so many of us.”

In July 2025, the Daisy Jones & The Six star revealed she needed hospital treatment for a hernia-which is a weakness or gap in the abdominal or groin muscles-and explained it was caused by wearing very tight pants.
‘Suki, you haven’t been tweeting lately,’ she posted on X, which used to be called Twitter. ‘Did it ever occur to you that I wore pants so incredibly tight six months ago that I got a hernia, and I’ve been afraid to mention it?’

The Beverly Hills, 90210 actor shared in April 2025 that he was getting better after having surgery because his appendix was close to rupturing.
“Last week, I began experiencing stomach pain,” Brian shared in an Instagram video. “I went to the emergency room and discovered I had a perforated appendix. It hadn’t quite ruptured, but it was very close.”
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

The Racing Louisville midfielder went down shortly after the start of her team’s game against the Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle.
According to Reuters, the United States Women’s National Team player was seen slowly sitting down on the field with a teammate supporting her, as the referee signaled for medical staff to evaluate her. She then collapsed just moments later.
As a huge NWSL fan, I was so relieved to see the league post an update on Savannah later that night on X. They said she got immediate medical attention right on the field and was taken to a nearby hospital to get checked out. Thankfully, they also reported that she was stable and alert, which was such a weight off my mind!

Adam Devine revealed that he continues to experience effects from injuries he suffered as a child. He was hit by a cement truck when he was 11 years old, and the impact still affects him today.
“It was a truly awful experience,” Devine explained on the 2025 episode of the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast. “I experience muscle spasms everywhere. Doctors initially believed I was facing a life-threatening condition-they said I could have died within the past year.”
He observed that pain is often temporary, explaining, “My body has all these things that are a little wonky and a little wrong with it.“

The Bachelor Nation star revealed he had to go to the hospital while literally crawling on his hands and knees because of severe back pain. The pain got much worse during a road trip he took with a friend.
“Currently, my knees are still tingling, which is really strange,” he shared on a March 2025 episode of his Trading Secrets podcast. “To give you some context, I don’t want to sound arrogant, but just two or three weeks ago, maybe a month ago, I was squatting around 295 pounds. Now, I can’t even do a squat on that foot. I can’t do a single-leg squat; I just fall over. It feels like I’ve had a stroke or something.”
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’m sharing some personal news from Real Housewives of Orange County star Gina Kirschenheiter. She recently revealed that her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, experienced a heart attack back in March 2025. Thankfully, he pulled through and is doing better now. It’s a reminder to prioritize health and cherish loved ones.

The 30 Rock actor experienced a medical issue while attending a New York Knicks game in March 2025, and had to be taken out of Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair.
But the comedian later posted an update on social media, explaining that he had actually suffered from food poisoning and was recovering well.

The former Even Stevens star revealed in February 2025 that she was shot in the face during a birthday trip with her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on the trip to go clay pigeon shooting.
She explained on Instagram that another group was with them and accidentally fired a weapon in the wrong direction, hitting her in the face. @thebrendanrooney quickly helped, checked her condition, and took her to the hospital. She was struck five times, and one of the shots was dangerously close – less than an inch from her right eye.
The Kim Possible actor explained, “Sadly, a small piece became stuck behind my eye, and doctors feel it’s too dangerous to operate and remove it right now. They will keep checking on me, but thankfully my vision is currently normal.”
The actress expressed her relief at surviving and being alive. “I cherish my daughters, husband, family, and friends immensely,” she stated. “I had a moment where I reflected on my entire life, and I want to tell everyone: make sure you hug your loved ones whenever you get the opportunity. Things can change so quickly.”

Although the internet can be harsh, Amy Schumer is grateful it helped her figure out what was going on with her health.
“After doing a lot of interviews, people started commenting on my “puffier” face, and I just told everyone to calm down,” Amy remembered on a January 2025 episode of Call Her Daddy. “But then doctors started leaving comments, saying they were concerned and thought something was seriously wrong. They said my face looked so different that they suspected a medical issue. I couldn’t believe I was being criticized by doctors!”
These doctors suggested she might have Cushing syndrome, possibly caused by high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This made the Life & Beth creator realize, “Wait a minute, I *have* been getting steroid injections for my scars.”
“I had a breast reduction, a C-section, and other procedures, so I was receiving these injections,” Amy explained. “They ended up giving me Cushing syndrome, and I never would have known if the internet hadn’t called me out.”
Today, Amy is just thankful she’s healthy. In a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, she shared, “Finding out I had a type of Cushing that would resolve on its own and that I was healthy was the best news I could have hoped for.”

During a game in December 2024, an AHL player suffered a cut from another player’s skate and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, his father, Tom Fitzgerald, the general manager of the New Jersey Devils, shared with ESPN, “We’re very lucky. I wouldn’t want that to happen to any parent.”

Hailey Bieber… oh my gosh, I was SO worried when I heard about this! She said she had the scariest moment of her life back in March 2022. She was just having breakfast with Justin Bieber, my ultimate couple goals, and suddenly started feeling… well, awful.
She shared on YouTube that
“Justin was like, ‘Are you OK?’” and she just froze, couldn’t even answer! Then he asked again, and when she tried to speak, she just… couldn’t. She said the right side of her face started drooping, and she couldn’t get a single sentence out! It sounded terrifying.
Thankfully, the drooping stopped and she got her speech back, but she immediately went to the hospital, which was SO smart, to get checked out.
They did scans and discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain. They called it a TIA [Transient Ischemic Attack].
But it didn’t stop there! She later went to UCLA and found out she had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO).
Apparently, the blood clot had gone *into* her heart, then escaped through that hole and traveled to her brain, causing the TIA! I was so stressed reading about it.
But the BEST news? She had a successful PFO closure procedure and is now feeling great! I’m SO relieved and happy for her! #haileybieber is a warrior!

The year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also went through a difficult time.
In June 2022, the “Baby” singer revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This meant he had to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained, “This virus attacks the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves, causing paralysis on this side of my face.” He showed his followers how he couldn’t blink his right eye, smile, or move his nostril. He also mentioned it had become “progressively harder to eat.” Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away.
“He’s doing really well,” Hailey shared on Good Morning America in June 2022. She added, “He’s feeling a lot better. It was a very scary and random situation, but he’s going to be totally OK and I’m just grateful he’s fine.”

Oh my gosh, you guys, I was SO worried about Jamie Foxx! He kept everything so private after he was hospitalized in April 2023, but he finally talked about it, and it was terrifying.
He explained that he was in Atlanta and got this awful headache. He actually *asked* someone for an aspirin, but then he just…went out. He said he doesn’t remember the next 20 days! Can you imagine?! He shared this in his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, and it broke my heart.
Apparently, he first went to a doctor who gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but thankfully his sister, Deidra Dixon, knew something was seriously wrong. She drove him to the hospital, and they discovered he’d had a brain bleed that caused a stroke.
Then, twenty days after surgery, on May 4th, he woke up in a wheelchair! He couldn’t even walk! He had to go to Chicago for rehab and therapy. It was such a long road for him.
He said, and it was so moving, “All I can tell you is that I appreciate every prayer,” because he *needed* every single one. I’m just so glad he’s recovering and sharing his story!

The television personality shared that she experienced a moment akin to “death” while jogging a mile during the initial competition of the NBC show.
Honestly, listening to her on Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser just *wrecked* me. She said she doesn’t remember much, which is so heartbreaking. She kept talking about hearing a helicopter, and then this feeling of just… floating. It was like she was describing an out-of-body experience! Then, get this – she said her grandpa *was there*. Can you imagine? And then darkness, but then… light. She was so certain. She literally said, “I knew, I knew I died that day.” It’s just… so incredibly powerful and honestly, I’ve replayed that clip a million times. I just can’t get over it. It gives me chills every time.
“My organs were essentially failing,” she went on to say. “I didn’t know I had rhabdomyolysis. And rhabdomyolysis is what your body does when it’s about to shut down.”

Emilia Clarke filmed battle scenes for Game of Thrones, but in 2019, she published an essay in The New Yorker titled “A Battle for My Life.”
Having a bad headache at the gym, “I reached the toilet, sank to my knees, and proceeded to be violently, voluminously ill,” the actress wrote. “Meanwhile, the pain—shooting, stabbing, constricting pain—was getting worse. At some level, I knew what was happening: my brain was damaged.”
She was taken to the hospital for a brain scan.
“The diagnosis was quick and ominous: a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening type of stroke, caused by bleeding into the space surrounding the brain,” the Emmy nominee added. “I’d had an aneurysm, an arterial rupture.”
Emilia had immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm, calling the pain “unbearable.” While she was recovering, she continued, she experienced aphasia and was “muttering nonsense.”
A week later, “the aphasia passed,” Emilia added, and she left the hospital a month after being admitted.
At a 2013 brain scan, she learned a growth “doubled in size” and that she needed surgery again.
“When they woke me, I was screaming in pain,” she wrote. “The procedure had failed. I had a massive bleed and the doctors made it plain that my chances of surviving were precarious if they didn’t operate again. This time they needed to access my brain in the old-fashioned way—through my skull.”
Thankfully, Emilia shared, she’s now “at a hundred per cent.”

Snoop Dogg‘s daughter, Cori Broadus, feels thankful for the support of her family.
This comes after she experienced a serious stroke in January 2024, and her family quickly came to be with her.
“I texted them that I’d had a stroke and sent a picture,” she explained to TopMob News correspondent Will Marfuggi in December 2024. “Everyone immediately came to help me.”
Cori ended up needing to stay in the hospital longer than planned due to other health issues.
“I could have been discharged after the stroke, but my lupus wasn’t stable,” the Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story star shared. “My kidneys were also failing. There was a lot happening at once.”
Currently, Cori is recovering well.
“I’m doing great,” she said. “I just needed to regain some motor skills, but other than that, I’m doing fine.”

Shailene Woodley had a difficult time with her health in her early 20s.
“I got to the point where I was losing my hearing. I couldn’t walk for more than five minutes without needing to lie down and sleep for hours,” the actress explained on a September 2024 episode of the SHE MD Podcast. “It was a combination of problems, diagnoses, and doctors telling me different things.”
Shailene-who has chosen to keep her specific condition private-decided to find some answers.
“I grew up with a holistic approach and have studied herbalism,” she added. “So I really wanted to work with both traditional doctors (MDs) and independent healers, just trying to find some comfort in my own body.”
It was a lengthy process-one that took 10 years.
“Over that decade, a lot of other issues came up because I was in so much physical discomfort,” the Big Little Lies star noted, “like being afraid of food because everything hurt my stomach. That led to mental struggles with body image, confusion about who I was, and feeling safe in my own skin.”
After focusing on both her physical and mental well-being, Shailene is now doing much better.
“It was a journey that eventually resolved itself physically, and I’m very healthy,” she shared. “I’m so happy to be able to say that.
