In October, Studio MAPPA will bring us back to Tatsuki Fujimoto’s world as the Chainsaw Devil prepares to reappear in “Chainsaw Man The Movie: The Reze Arc”. As Denji faces off against the Bomb Devil in this devilish conflict, it may not be the only issue he has to deal with. Despite his unfortunate history with love, our anime hero now finds himself in a rather pleasant predicament – having two women vying for his affections.
To bring fans up to date, Makima has played a significant role in the anime’s adaptation since her debut in season one. She often treats Denji like a pet, making the Chainsaw Devil seem almost powerless in her presence as he obeys her commands easily. Throughout the first season, it became apparent that Chainsaw Man‘s employer didn’t reciprocate Denji’s feelings for her and was hiding some sinister secrets. In the recently released trailer, you can see the arrival of Reze, a new enigmatic character who seems to have a soft spot for Denji. Unlike Makima, Reze appears more affectionate towards Denji, suggesting that the upcoming movie in October might put him in a tough position as he faces a challenging decision between the two women.
The Chainsaw Man Dilemma
Oh, I can’t wait to dive deeper into the cinematic journey of Chainsaw Man! Sony Pictures has just revealed an exciting new synopsis for the anime film, set to release on October 29th. Here it goes:
“For the first time, Chainsaw Man embarks on a thrilling, action-packed adventure on the big screen, extending the wildly popular anime series. Once a Devil Hunter in the yakuza’s service, trying to pay off the debt left by his parents, Denji was betrayed and met his end. But before he could fully succumb, his cherished chainsaw-wielding devil-dog, Pochita, intervened and struck a deal with Denji, fusing them into an unstoppable force – Chainsaw Man!
Now, amidst a ruthless war between devils, hunters, and hidden adversaries, a mysterious girl named Reze has entered the fray. As Denji prepares for his deadliest confrontation yet, fueled by love in a world where survival means breaking all the rules.
Although the popular action series based on a shonen manga has been adapted into a film by MAPPA, they’ve remained silent about the possibility of a second season. Fans, who know that the story arc after Reze’s introduction is quite extensive and potentially too intense for a single movie, will have to wait to find out what happens next following The Reze Arc. Fortunately, fans can always revisit or catch up on the ongoing manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, which continues to release new chapters every week.
