- Witness the rise of one of Marvel’s most infamous villains as Captain America comes face to face with Doom for the first time! This is Latveria like you’ve never seen it before…
- Also: Who is David Colton, and can Steve trust him to have his back as they infiltrate a hostile country with the new Howling Commandos?
The tale of David Colton appears to mirror that of Steve Rogers, with a young, passionate, seemingly overmatched soldier blazing a new trail before acquiring his own suit and shield. Later, David will be paired with the contemporary version of Howling Commandos, an illustrious group of elite soldiers tasked with tackling the most perilous missions imaginable. In one such mission in Latveria, David is destined to encounter Steve Rogers, as the forthcoming Captain America series aims to reshape history on multiple occasions.
In the unique timeline of the Marvel Universe, the most recent Captain America series delays his release from the icy prison more than fans typically anticipate. Instead of immediately joining the Avengers, Captain America chooses to re-enlist in the military to adapt to a world that has dramatically changed since he left it. During his first mission, which takes him to Latveria, he encounters not only a new version of the Howling Commandos but also Doctor Doom for what marks their initial encounter.
either adapt to a new type of warfare or carve his own path? The decision he makes now will have profound implications for his future.
Captain America #2 will be on sale on August 6 from Marvel Comics.
