Naya Rivera & Ryan Dorsey’s Son Josey Celebrates 10th Birthday

Naya Rivera’s son Josey is growing up so fast.

And the proof is in his father Ryan Dorsey’s latest post in honor of his 10th birthday. 

“120 months…521.78 weeks, 3,652 days gone by in a flash…,”” the Justified actor shared in an Instagram post on Sept. 27, along with a photo of him and Josey smiling happily at the camera. Josey was also holding up an old picture of himself. “Our sweet baby boy @joseydorsey is 10.”

Ryan, 42, lovingly spoke about his son, saying, “It’s amazing how quickly you’ve grown into the strong, curious, funny, bright, and intelligent 10-year-old you are today. I love you more than all the stars, and I’m incredibly proud to be your Dad, my guy!”

Along with a touching message, Ryan shared some moments from Josey’s life, showing him spending time with friends, bravely holding up a snake, and getting ready in front of the mirror. Ryan finished the post by highlighting their close father-son relationship with videos of them playfully wrestling and singing along to John Denver’s “Country Roads, Take Me Home.”

Ryan-who was married to Naya from 2014 to 2018-has been raising Josey since the Glee star sadly passed away at age 33. This happened after a boating accident in July 2020, where Naya and Josey were involved.

Recently, the Big Sky actor discussed how he’s honoring Naya’s memory for their son, Josey. He’s doing this in part through music, as Josey has started taking piano lessons.

During a February interview on Good Morning America, Ryan recalled saying, ‘Your mom would absolutely want you to play,’ and then added, ‘She’s always watching over you.’

Ryan is also working to ensure Josey-who was with his mother when she passed away-remembers her fondly and understands the impact she had on the world.

I’m thankful he still remembers his mother,” the Yellowstone alum continued. “Fortunately, because she was on TV, her memory will last forever.
