10 Best Anime to Binge on Crunchyroll in October 2025

With September over, anime fans are saying goodbye to the Summer 2025 anime shows and getting ready for the exciting Fall season. The Fall 2025 anime season is packed with both new series and returning favorites, many of which will premiere in the first week of October. Although 2025 has already been a great year for anime, the next season is predicted to be the best yet, bringing back One Punch Man, Spy x Family, and My Hero Academia with fresh episodes.

As usual, Crunchyroll, the biggest place to watch anime online, will have most of these new shows available as they’re released. But, new episodes will come out one at a time each week, which isn’t great if you prefer to watch everything at once. If you’re searching for something new to stream, our list of 10 anime series should provide entertainment for the whole month. It’s a great way to discover new favorites! We hope you enjoy the shows!

10) Witch Watch

This charming and funny anime is adapted from Kenta Shinohara’s popular manga, originally published in Weekly Shonen Jump. The story centers around Morihito Otogi, who is actually an ogre – a powerful race created when witches married their magical companions. While Morihito looks like a typical high school student, his hidden strength frequently causes problems, even though he always avoids conflict. He reconnects with his friend from childhood, Nico Wakatsuki, a young witch who spent years training in the Witches’ Holy Land before returning.

Nico is determined to make Morihito her familiar, but she doesn’t know her mother has asked the Otogi family to protect her. Morihito is hesitant to live with the energetic Nico, but he agrees when he finds out her life will be at risk in a year. The story follows Nico as she readjusts to life among humans, and Morihito as he strives to keep her safe.

9) Dandadan

Dandadan finished its second season in September 2025, making now a great time to start watching this unique and quirky supernatural show. The series centers on Momo Ayase, a high school student who’s fascinated by ghosts – even though she’s never seen one – because her grandmother is a psychic. She meets Ken Takakura, nicknamed Okarun, a shy classmate who piques her interest because he shares a name with her favorite actor. Okarun, who is in the same year as her, studies aliens but doesn’t believe in ghosts.

To settle their disagreement, the two characters make a bet, which quickly leads them into a series of perilous adventures. They not only confirm the existence of both ghosts and aliens, but also unlock new abilities in the process. However, their normal lives are permanently disrupted as they constantly find themselves facing one challenge after another. As the narrative unfolds, they gain a deeper understanding of their powers and utilize them to protect those they care about from any threats. It’s a constant struggle, but they’re determined to do what’s right.

8) Apocalypse Hotel

Among the standout anime of 2025, Apocalypse Hotel is a hidden gem. It takes place in 2157, long after people were forced to leave Earth because of its poisonous air. While much of society has been lost, the Gingarou Hotel, a high-end hotel in Tokyo, remarkably remains operational. This hotel, once known for its excellent service, hasn’t had a guest in decades. However, the robotic staff continue to work diligently, maintaining the hotel to the highest standards.

Yachiyo, who manages everything as a robot, keeps working with the hope that people will one day come back to Earth. Even though the story centers around robots, their feelings of loneliness and commitment to their jobs create a subtle sadness as we discover more about the ruined world. Apocalypse Hotel is an original anime created by CygamesPictures, and a manga version also came out in April, coinciding with the anime’s release.

7) The Summer Hikaru Died

This story, adapted from Mokumokuren’s award-winning manga, centers around Yoshiki Tsujinaka and Hikaru Indou, who have been close friends since they were children in a quiet, peaceful village. When Hikaru suddenly vanishes, the village is thrown into a panic, searching for him for over a week. He eventually returns, seemingly unharmed, but Yoshiki is the only one who realizes something is wrong. Despite looking, sounding, and even remembering things exactly like the original Hikaru, the boy standing before him is actually an imposter.

He soon discovers his close friend passed away while he was missing, and a mysterious being has been pretending to be him. This creature admits it doesn’t know where it came from, only that it feels affection for Yoshiki, which creates a difficult situation for him. Adding to the trouble, odd events begin to unfold following Hikaru’s death, disrupting the calm of their village. The Summer Hikaru Died has finished its initial season, and a second season is now being made.

6) Fire Force

The anime adaptation of Atsushi Ookubo’s manga, Fire Force, will conclude with its final season, Season 3 Cour 2, planned for Winter 2026. The series stands out for its excellent world-building, unique power system, strong characters, and complex mysteries – making it a highlight in modern Shonen anime. The story takes place in a world where people suddenly burst into flames, transforming into destructive creatures called Infernals, who lose their minds and wreak havoc. It’s up to the Fire Force, a team of specially trained fire soldiers, to battle these monsters and bring them peace.

I’ve noticed that nearly all of the soldiers possess incredible pyrokinetic abilities – they can control and shape flames in really unique ways. I’m following the story of Shinra Kusakabe, a new firefighter with a difficult past. He’s determined to find out what really happened to his family, who died in a fire 12 years ago. He joins Special Fire Force Company 8 hoping to track down whoever was responsible, but I have a feeling the truth is going to be much bigger – and more dangerous – than he expects. It seems like he’s in for more than he bargained for, and I’m eager to see how it all unfolds.

5) Link Click

In essence, Link Click is a Chinese animated series, often referred to as a ‘donghua,’ and it’s become increasingly well-known. This intriguing mystery centers around Xiaoshi Cheng and Guang Lu, who run a modest shop called “Time Photo Studio.” On the surface, their job seems straightforward, but the shop offers a unique service: the pair can use their abilities to step *into* photographs and fulfill clients’ wishes, with the one condition that they cannot alter past events.

Xiaoshi has a unique power: he can step *into* a photograph and control the person who originally took it. Meanwhile, Guang explores the past simply by viewing pictures, and he consistently guides Xiaoshi to help them achieve what they’ve set out to do. But keeping the past unchanged proves to be harder than they thought, as even a small mistake could lead to serious problems. The show currently has two seasons available, and a third season is scheduled to be released in 2026.

4) Dr. Stone

The popular anime Dr. Stone, based on the acclaimed manga by Riichiro Inagaki (story) and Boichi (art), is set to finish its run in 2026 with the final part of its fourth season. The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic future, 3700 years after a strange green light turns all of humanity to stone, effectively ending modern civilization. Senku Ishigami, a brilliant high school student who dreams of becoming an astronaut, awakens to find himself completely alone in a world turned to stone, having somehow remained conscious the entire time.

He discovers how to reverse petrification and successfully wakes up his friend, Taiju. Although the process of un-petrifying someone is simple, obtaining the necessary ingredients for the revival fluid is quite challenging. Despite this, Senku is determined to use his scientific expertise to restore humanity and rebuild society, and he realizes he’ll need more people to help him do it.

3) Spy x Family

The highly anticipated third season of Spy x Family, based on Tatsuya Endo’s popular series from Shonen Jump+, is set to premiere on October 4th, 2025. If you’re not already familiar with the story, now is a great time to start! The series centers around Twilight, Westalis’s top spy, who tirelessly works in secret to prevent another war with Ostania. His current, critical mission-Operation Strix-involves infiltrating the inner circle of Donovan Desmond, the chairman of Ostania’s National Unity Party, who is believed to be instigating conflict.

However, Donovan is a very private person, and he only appears at events held by Eden Academy for the sake of his oldest son. Since only the parents of students recognized as Imperial Scholars are permitted to attend, Loid needs to fabricate a family to gain access and complete his mission. He’s quickly discovering that working with ordinary people is proving more difficult than anticipated. This complicates things considerably.

2) Demon Slayer

I’m so excited for the newest Infinity Castle film! While it’s not streaming on Crunchyroll *yet*, the good news is they already have all the previous seasons and the Infinity Train film, which is perfect for a refresher. The story really grabs you – it’s about Tanjiro Kamado, a young boy who comes home to find his whole family tragically killed. His sister, Nezuko, is the only one left, but she’s been turned into a demon! Tanjiro is so determined to find a cure for her, and he carries her through a snowy forest. That’s where he meets this really intriguing Demon Slayer, Giyu Tomioka, and things *really* start to happen.

At first, Giyu planned to kill Nezuko, but he decided against it when he recognized the potential of both siblings. He directed them to a trainer and helped Tanjiro begin his journey to become a Demon Slayer, hoping he could find the demon who caused their suffering and maybe even turn Tanjiro’s sister back to human form.

1) Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End

The first season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, based on the popular manga by Yamada Kanehito (story) and Tsukasa Abe (art), quickly became one of the most highly-rated anime series ever made. Fans can look forward to Season 2 arriving in Winter 2026, which will continue the story. The series has a thoughtful and somewhat sad tone, exploring themes of loss and how quickly time passes. It starts after a grand adventure where the Hero’s party, led by Himmel, successfully defeated the Demon King. Frieren, an elf mage who is over a thousand years old, was a member of that party and traveled with them for a decade.

For humans, ten years is a long time, but it’s just a blink of an eye for Frieren, who lives for centuries. She eventually realizes that traveling with the Hero’s party deeply impacted her. Feeling regret for not truly knowing Himmel, she sets off on a journey to Aureole, a place at the northern edge of the continent where spirits find rest. Along the way, with her apprentice Fern and a hopeful hero named Stark, Frieren revisits locations from her past adventures, discovering how much meaning each moment actually held.
