7 Biggest September 2025 Games That are Steam Deck Verified

September 2025 was packed with exciting games covering all sorts of genres. With so many new releases, it’s hard to find time to play everything. Luckily, many of the top games this month are also verified to work on the Steam Deck, so you can easily play them on the go. While games like Borderlands 4 and Silent Hill f aren’t yet Steam Deck verified (though Silent Hill f is still playable), there’s still a lot to choose from and something for almost everyone. Here are the seven biggest Steam Deck verified games from September 2025.

7) Hollow Knight: Silksong

  • Release Date: September 4th, 2025

Silksong is shaping up to be a top game release of 2025. For years, fans have eagerly awaited this title, and Team Cherry has now delivered. Fortunately, both reviewers and players are praising the game, agreeing that the developers have created something truly special. While it presents a good level of difficulty, conquering those challenges is incredibly rewarding. It’s an ideal game to play on the Steam Deck and is a must-play for many.

6) NBA 2K26

  • Release Date: September 5th, 2025

NBA 2K26 stands out as one of the few top-tier sports games that works well on the Steam Deck. Unfortunately, Madden and EA Sports FC aren’t compatible with the device, and games like College Football and The Show aren’t even available on Steam. This leaves sports fans with limited options, but at least there’s one game they can play on the Deck.

5) Dying Light: The Beast

  • Release Date: September 18th, 2025

Techland’s newest Dying Light game once again lets you play as Kyle Crane, the protagonist from the first game. Now, Crane is struggling with the effects of years of harsh “brutal experiments” which have transformed him into a creature that’s part human and part animal. You can also team up with up to three friends in co-op mode, providing some assistance as you navigate the dangerous world.

4) Megabonk

  • Release Date: September 18th, 2025

Megabonk builds upon the popular gameplay of Vampire Survivors, but transports it into a 3D environment. This added dimension increases the intensity, allowing you to move and jump around the levels, using the surroundings to avoid enemy attacks. Similar to Vampire Survivors, it’s perfect for short bursts of play, making it easy to get hooked and lose track of time – you’ll find yourself saying “just one more” late into the night.

3) Baby Steps

  • Release Date: September 23rd, 2025

Baby Steps is a surprisingly challenging game, and definitely one of the most difficult releases this year. It takes a significant amount of time to learn the controls, and even after you do, you’re still limited in how much you can help Nate overcome the obstacles. However, the feeling of accomplishment when you finally reach the top of the mountain is incredibly satisfying – few games offer such a rewarding experience. Be warned, you might damage a controller or two out of frustration, but conquering The Manbreaker feels truly special.

2) Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

  • Release Date: September 25th, 2025

Mario Kart is a top game on the Switch, so it’s not surprising that Mario Kart World-level quality translates well to the Steam Deck. If you chose a Steam Deck instead of a Switch 2, you won’t be missing out much by playing CrossWorlds instead of MK World.

Actually, some people believe that CrossWorlds is even better than World. Unlike the newest Mario Kart, Sonic Racing keeps things traditional with three-lap races. If you didn’t enjoy the open-world style of World, this is a classic kart racing game that gives its competitors some unique traits through its rival system.

1) Hades 2

  • Release Date: September 25th, 2025

Hades 2 has been available in early access for some time, so it’s no surprise it’s proving popular on the Steam Deck. It’s worth highlighting, though, that this sequel significantly improves upon the already fantastic original. It retains the excellent combat and roguelike features that made the first game so successful, and the new additions are truly outstanding.

This time around, you’ll be playing as the Princess of the Underworld, giving you access to new witchcraft and powerful dark magic. With a fresh group of gods and a variety of witch familiars to choose from, Supergiant has really hit it out of the park – especially considering this is their first ever sequel. Hades 2 is a strong contender for Game of the Year and runs incredibly well on the Deck.
