Nicole Kidman has prioritized raising her daughters, ensuring her work hasn’t interfered with being a good mother.
The Undoing actress-who shares daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, with Keith Urban, from whom she is now divorcing-previously discussed how she managed being a mother while also traveling extensively for her acting career. She explained that she frequently brings Sunday and Faith along with her when filming projects in various locations around the globe.
“I enjoy traveling, and a lot of people don’t,” Nicole shared with L’Officiel in September 2024. “My children also like to travel…perhaps not as much now [as they’ve gotten older], but they’re very curious about the world. They joke that their passports have more stamps than most people in their eighties.”
You know, I’ve learned that their incredibly worldly upbringing really shaped who they are. It all started when they were young – they actually lived in Morocco, which is where I filmed Queen of the Desert back in 2015. Then, we spent three and a half months in the Algerian Desert, completely immersed in the culture – riding camels and exploring the souks. But that’s not all! They’ve truly lived everywhere – France, Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, all across Asia, including Vietnam and Hong Kong. It’s been an amazing journey watching them grow up with such a global perspective.
She never really imagined she’d be able to balance work and travel with her kids. The Oscar-winning actress-who also has Bella Kidman Cruise, 32, and Connor Cruise, 30, with her ex-husband Tom Cruise-used to think she would have to choose between her career and being a full-time mother.
After giving birth to her son, Sunday, Nicole felt she was finished with having children. She explained to CBS Sunday Morning in December 2024, ‘I thought I was done.’ She had recently moved to Nashville and was living on a farm when her mother encouraged her not to give up on the possibility of having more children. Her mum advised, ‘Don’t completely stop trying; keep your options open.’
The paperwork also included an agreement outlining the couple’s commitment to co-parenting respectfully-they have agreed not to exchange child support payments.
According to court documents, the parents will maintain a loving, stable, and supportive relationship with their child, despite being divorced. The documents state they will treat each other and all family members with respect, and will never speak negatively about one another. They will also encourage each child to continue loving both parents and feel comfortable with both families.
Recent comments from Nicole have come to light as she officially filed for divorce from Keith in Nashville on September 30th, ending their 19-year marriage. This filing follows reports that she had been living apart from Keith “since the beginning of summer,” coinciding with the start of his world tour, as previously reported by TopMob.
In her divorce paperwork, the Big Little Lies actress requested to be the main caregiver for their teenage daughters. She also proposed a custody plan-the “Permanent Parenting Plan”-where the girls would live with her for 306 days each year and with their father, Keith, for 59 days. This would mean Keith would have the children every other weekend.
The papers also included an agreement where the couple-who have agreed not to exchange child support payments-promised to raise their children together respectfully and cooperatively.
“The mother and father will behave with each other and each child so as to provide a loving, stable, consistent and nurturing relationship with the child even though they are divorced,” the docs stated. “They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent. They will encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families.”

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban quietly separated and began living separately around the start of summer, according to information obtained by TopMob News. Several significant events during the summer then contributed to their decision to file for divorce.
His High and Alive World Tour began in Alabama, and he spent the summer touring the U.S., Canada, and Australia.
They were last seen together in public at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 in Nashville, appearing happy and relaxed as they laughed and smiled.
To celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary in June, Kidman shared a picture of the couple, writing, “Happy Anniversary Baby.” Urban responded with a heart emoji, but he didn’t post anything himself.
People were surprised when the country singer suddenly stopped an interview after a question about the connection between Kidman and her Zac Efron in the movie A Family Affair.
A radio host on Australia’s Mix 102.3’s Hayley & Max in the Morning started a conversation by saying, “Considering how often your wife, the wonderful Nicole Kidman, appears in so many successful movies and TV shows… what does Keith Urban think when he sees her in romantic scenes with younger actors like Zac Efron?”
Suddenly, Urban disappeared from the call.
“He’s no longer connected to Zoom,” a radio staff member explained. “It seems his team ended the call, likely because they didn’t want to answer that question.”
His rep didn’t respond to TopMob’s request for comment at the time.
Sources at TopMob News have discovered that the Practical Magic actress has applied for residency in Portugal, and Urban is reportedly planning to do the same.
According to a source familiar with the matter, Keith couldn’t attend the appointment in Portugal because he’s currently touring the U.S. The source told TopMob that applicants must be physically present to apply for the visa. He plans to submit his application when his tour schedule allows.
At the time, the source said both planned to maintain a permanent residence in Nashville as well.
As a longtime fan, I was so fascinated to hear their eldest daughter, Sunday Rose, talk about what it’s like growing up with her parents! In a recent interview, she explained that they really only have two big rules at home. It’s so sweet to see how they keep things simple!
She explained to Nylon that she faced two main limitations: she wasn’t able to pursue any fashion-related jobs until she turned 16, and school always had to be her priority. Initially, she didn’t like this rule, but now she’s grateful for it, saying it helps her stay focused and positive. “I am actually really glad that I have these rules in place because it keeps me in a good mindset.”
Nicole Kidman posted some photos on Sunday showcasing summer moments with her daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. However, her husband wasn’t featured in the Instagram post.
“Summer memories,” the actress wrote. “Now back to school.”
During August, the lawyer created a Child Support Worksheet as part of a Parenting Plan. This document specified that Kidman and Urban would share custody of their daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
However, the Oscar-winning actor was officially designated as the main parent where the children live. This meant the girls spent 306 days a year with their mother and 59 days with their father (Keith Urban will have the children every other weekend).
Neither will pay child support, according to the doc obtained by TopMob News.
The parents will maintain a loving, stable, and supportive relationship with their child, even after their divorce, it stated. They agree to avoid speaking negatively about each other or anyone in the other parent’s family. They will also encourage each child to continue loving both parents and feel comfortable with both families.
Urban finalized their divorce agreement, having it officially notarized in August, according to documents obtained by TopMob News.
The document revealed that Kidman planned to file for divorce from him because they had differences they couldn’t resolve. It also noted that neither she nor he would receive alimony or spousal support after the divorce.
The same date, he also signed off on the Parenting Plan.
One week after Urban, the actress also had the Marital Dissolution Agreement officially notarized and signed the Parenting Plan.
On the same day, a judge approved an order requiring both celebrities to attend a required parenting class, unless they request a waiver, according to documents obtained by TopMob News.
Even though she had already signed the necessary papers, she continued to wear her engagement ring while attending an event at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles.
The split between the couple made news, with TopMob News reporting that they-who began dating in 2005-had decided to end their relationship privately.
The Big Little Lies actress has officially filed for divorce, stating that they separated on the day the paperwork was submitted: September 30, 2025.
They officially filed their Marital Dissolution Agreement and Parenting Plan with a Tennessee court on the same day for approval.
