We’re excited about the possibility of seeing more gods and deities from Marvel Comics join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Over the past 17 years, Marvel Studios has brought a lot of powerful, god-like characters into the MCU, including impressive figures like Thor, Khonshu, Zeus, and Eternity. It’s been fantastic to witness their incredible powers, and we believe there’s room for even more gods to appear, potentially reshaping the balance of power within the franchise forever.
In the past, people on Earth worshipped beings from places like Asgard and Omnipotence City as gods, but cosmic entities like Celestials, Eternity, the Elders of the Universe, and the gods of ancient Egypt are more akin to the concept of gods as we understand them today. These powerful beings are some of the strongest characters in the MCU, though we’ve only seen a small part of what they can do in live-action films. If Marvel introduces more of these incredibly powerful gods, it would create opportunities to showcase some of the franchise’s most spectacular and visually impressive abilities.
7) Chthon

As a big Marvel fan, I was so excited to see the first mention of this powerful being in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness! Chthon is an Elder God from the comics, and he’s seriously powerful – he uses something called Chaos Magic to basically bend reality to his will. Apparently, he put a curse on Wanda Maximoff when she was a kid, which is what eventually turned her into the Scarlet Witch. It was officially confirmed that Chthon created the original Darkhold spells in the MCU, just like in the comics, and he lives in Darkhold Castle on Mount Wundagore. Seeing this connection to the source material has really got me hoping we’ll get to see Chthon in action soon – I’m desperate to see what he can do!
6) Amatsu-Mikaboshi

Amatsu-Mikaboshi first appeared in Marvel Comics’ Thor: Blood Oath #6 back in 2006. He’s portrayed as a powerful, evil god of darkness – an ancient, destructive force that once ruled the Earth. He tried to reclaim his power in more recent times, leading to conflicts with Thor and Hercules. This ultimately resulted in the Chaos War storyline, where all of Marvel’s gods united to defeat him. He’s an incredibly powerful and influential being, and Brett Goldstein’s first appearance as Hercules in Thor: Love and Thunder might have created an opportunity for Amatsu-Mikaboshi to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
5) Infinity

Thor: Love and Thunder brought the character Eternity into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Eternity’s sister, Infinity, hasn’t appeared in live-action yet. In Marvel Comics, Eternity represents time, while Infinity embodies space and is the origin of the power used by the Quantum Bands. This connection could tie Infinity to Kamala Khan’s Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) in the MCU, since Kamala now possesses the Quantum Bands. This could significantly increase the young hero’s abilities – potentially developing her, with Infinity’s assistance, into one of the MCU’s strongest and most important figures.
4) The Beyonder

With Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars coming up, there’s a good chance we might see the Beyonder appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Originally, in 1984, this incredibly powerful, god-like being took heroes and villains from across the Marvel Universe to a place called Battleworld, making them fight just for his amusement. It was later discovered he was the offspring of the Beyonders – a race of advanced aliens who exist outside of our multiverse and cause devastating events. In the 2015 Secret Wars comic storyline, Doctor Doom gained their power, which could be adapted for live-action if the Beyonder is introduced to the MCU.
3) The Living Tribunal

First appearing in Marvel Comics in 1967, the Living Tribunal is a powerful being responsible for maintaining balance across the entire multiverse, acting as the ultimate judge of all alternate realities. He could fulfill a similar role in the MCU. While mentioned in Doctor Strange, and appearing as a statue in Loki, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Thor: Love and Thunder, the Living Tribunal hasn’t been fully introduced to the MCU yet. Given that he oversees the entire multiverse, it would be fantastic to see him before the Multiverse Saga ends.
2) The Fulcrum

Within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the Celestials are seen as god-like beings, but even they have someone above them. In the Marvel Comics, that higher power is the Fulcrum, an incredibly powerful entity who views all cosmic beings as instruments to maintain balance and keep reality going. He’s best known for communicating with Tiamut, the Dreaming Celestial, who first appeared in Eternals and has a larger role in Captain America: Brave New World as the origin of adamantium. The introduction of Tiamut and the storyline of the Eternals open the door for the Fulcrum to potentially appear in the MCU.
1) One Above All

As a huge Marvel fan, I’m constantly thinking about how they’ll tackle the biggest powers in the universe, and I’m really hoping we eventually see the One Above All in the MCU! This being is considered the ultimate creative force – the source of *everything* that ever was, is, or will be. It’s the most powerful figure in all of Marvel Comics, honestly. The Living Tribunal, a massively powerful being who oversees the entire multiverse, actually *serves* the One Above All – that’s how powerful it is! But here’s the thing – the One Above All has a counterpart, a dark side called the One Below All. They’re two sides of the same coin, really. While one creates and builds, the other destroys, maintaining balance in reality. It’s mind-blowing to think that this being created *itself* and is responsible for absolutely everything in the multiverse, and is more powerful than all of its creations *combined*. Honestly, it’s difficult to picture a being so incredibly powerful actually being introduced into the MCU, but I’m holding out hope!
