Every Game Coming to Nintendo Switch 1 & 2 in October 2025

It’s hard to stay updated with so many new games being released each month, especially since they often come out on different platforms. It’s frustrating to get excited about a new game, only to find out it isn’t available on your preferred system. That’s why we’ve created this list of every new game coming to the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 in October. This roundup focuses *only* on Switch games, and all of them!

We’re looking forward to many major Switch 2 games arriving in November and later this year, but October is already bringing a good selection of new titles for all Switch consoles. Nintendo fans will be especially excited to see the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A. This game will be the first Pokemon title available for the Switch 2, following the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet upgrade which demonstrated the new console’s improved capabilities. However, Pokemon isn’t the only new game launching on Switch and Switch 2 in October. Here’s a complete list of what’s coming this month, Nintendo fans.

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 Bundle

During the September Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are coming back to the Nintendo eShop. You’ll be able to buy them starting October 2nd, either together as a package or as individual games. They’re launching on the Nintendo Switch and will also be playable on the Switch 2 thanks to backwards compatibility.

Battle Suit Aces

On October 7th, the card battle RPG Battle Suit Aces-featuring mechs and monsters-will be released on the Nintendo Switch. Good news for future-proofers: the game will also work on the Nintendo Switch 2 thanks to backwards compatibility.

Absolum

Dometu’s exciting new roguelite beat ’em up, Absolum, launches on Nintendo Switch on October 9th. Players will enter a fresh fantasy world and experience a quick and action-packed adventure. Good news for future gamers – the game will also work on the Switch 2 thanks to backwards compatibility.

Bye Sweet Carole

If you’re looking for a scary game to play on your Switch this October, you’re in luck! The narrative horror game Bye Sweet Carole will be available on the Nintendo Switch starting October 9th. The game immerses players in a frightening story that’s guaranteed to be a thrilling experience. While it’s launching on the original Switch, it’s also confirmed that the game will be playable on the Switch 2 when it releases.

Disagea 7 Complete

For Switch 2 owners, a special release is coming to Nintendo’s latest console. On October 10th, Disagea 7 Complete will be available exclusively on the Switch 2. Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition

This is the third game in the chilling survival horror series, and players will be able to experience it on the Nintendo Switch. It’s also been confirmed that the game will work with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

Just Dance 2026 Edition

Yes, we’re still in 2025, but Ubisoft is preparing to release the newest version of Just Dance. Coming on October 14th, Just Dance 2026 Edition will feature 40 fresh tracks and will include the familiar solo, cooperative, and competitive gameplay modes that players enjoy. The game will launch on Nintendo Switch and will also work on the Switch 2 thanks to backwards compatibility.

Ball x Pit

This fantasy roguelite game puts players in the role of heroes venturing deep underground to finish their quest. It will launch on the Nintendo Switch on October 15th, and the developers are also planning a version for the Switch 2 in “Fall 2025” as well.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Good news for Pokemon fans! The release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A is just around the corner, arriving on October 16th for both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. This new Pokemon adventure takes place in Lumiose City and will feature a significant return of Mega Evolutions.

Angry Video Game Nerd 8-Bit

The latest 8-bit adventure in the Angry Video Game Nerd series launches on Nintendo Switch on October 23rd. Chicken Run: Eggstraction

Two Point Museum

The much-loved museum management game, Two Point Museum, is now heading to Nintendo’s handheld console! Following years of requests from fans hoping to play it on the original Switch, a new version for the Switch 2 will be released on October 28th. The game won’t be available on the older Switch because of its technical limitations, but the Switch 2 is powerful enough to run this charming and relaxing game.

Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD Remake

Okay, so I’m super excited – the HD remake of the first two Dragon Quest games is coming out on October 30th! It’s a really beautiful new version of these classic Square Enix games, and the best part? It’s launching on both the Switch and the Switch 2 at the same time! Seriously, can’t wait!

Majogami

In the 2D action platformer Majogami, Craft Witch Shiroha journeys through a world made of paper. The game is being developed by Inti Creates and will be released on both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 30th.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection

Get ready! This huge collection of classic Mortal Kombat games is launching soon. It gathers all the important, original Mortal Kombat titles in a single package, plus bonus documentary content and more. You’ll be able to play it on both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 starting October 30th.

Mina the Hollower

If you’re looking for a charming, retro-style game, Mina the Hollower is a great choice. This exciting action-adventure title is made by the same team that brought you Shovel Knight, and it’s coming to both the Switch and the new Switch 2 on October 31st.

Tales of Xillia Remastered
