Over three months have passed since Denis Villeneuve was named director of the next James Bond movie, but we still don’t know who will be the next 007, replacing Daniel Craig. The search for the iconic spy’s next actor continues.
Naturally, as we await official announcements, speculation has been rampant, with many different actors being mentioned. Recent, but contradictory, reports indicate the producers are leaning towards either a relatively unknown British actor, or the well-known (and non-British) Jacob Elordi. Therefore, the situation remains quite unclear at this time.
Another actor often mentioned as a possibility for the part – and said to be among Amazon’s top three choices, along with Jacob Elordi and Tom Holland – is Harris Dickinson, known for his roles in Babygirl and The Iron Claw.
Keeping that in mind, during our recent conversation with Dickinson about his first feature film, Urchin, we had to ask about the circulating rumors – though, as expected, he remained fairly tight-lipped about them.
He estimated that around 50 to 100 people receive this question, adding, “So it doesn’t feel particularly special or a privilege to be asked it now.”
He did acknowledge the rumours were “certainly interesting,” suggesting there might be some truth to them. However, it’s probably best not to get too excited.

What we do know is that Steven Knight, the writer behind Peaky Blinders, will be writing the new film. He recently shared with TopMob that, although he hasn’t started writing yet, he isn’t tailoring the script to any particular actor at this stage.
He stated, “I can’t talk about it,” when asked for more details regarding the next installment in the franchise.
It seems we’ll have to be patient for now – let’s hope we discover who the next 007 is soon…
