Fans of UA Academy are getting ready for the end, as the final season of My Hero Academia will begin airing on October 4th. After creator Kohei Horikoshi concluded the manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump last year, anime viewers have been eagerly anticipating the conclusion. Thankfully, Studio BONES is building excitement for Deku’s final adventure by sharing a new preview of the season eight premiere. However, things appear dire for both the young and veteran heroes, due to the immense power of All For One and Shigaraki.
The first episode of the final season, titled “Yagi Toshinori: Rising Origin,” suggests we’ll be learning more about All Might’s history and current situation. Even though the former Symbol of Peace can’t use the full power of his Quirk, One For All, his suit is helping him continue fighting. However, All For One is still incredibly powerful, and his strength has actually increased because his wounds are healing thanks to Eri’s ability. The preview also shows Aoyama and Fat Gum struggling against Kunieda, a villain who’s a lower-ranking member of the Paranormal Liberation Front. Class 1-A’s Final Battle
Last season, as I recall, All Might was really trying to stall in his fight with All For One. He was hoping the villain would age backwards to the point of dying *before* he could get to Shigaraki. And speaking of Shigaraki – or Shiggy, as some call him – he’s really stepping up his attacks on Deku. It’s a showdown between the successors of All For One and One For All, and the fate of Hero Society hangs in the balance. While heroes *have* managed to take down villains like Toga, Dabi, Spinner, and a lot of other League of Villains members, this fight is far from over.
Fortunately, My Hero Academia‘s creator, Kohei Horikoshi, has shared that he’ll be more involved in making the final season. Now that he’s finished working on the manga, Horikoshi has more free time and was happy to collaborate with BONES on season eight. As a result of this teamwork, Horikoshi also confirmed he’s developing new scenes for the anime that weren’t part of the original manga. To be specific, Kohei explained,
With the conclusion of the My Hero Academia manga, I’ve been able to collaborate more directly with the anime’s production team. This has allowed me to propose adding extra scenes and deepening the emotional impact of the acting. Horikoshi previously did something similar with the manga, including extra content that gave more detail about the future of Hero Society and the events after the final fight. Currently, the specifics of this new material are still unknown.
