Paramount+ is continuing to invest in original content. Just days after a recent announcement, the streaming service has greenlit *Discretion* for a full series, meaning it will go straight to production.
Paramount+ has commissioned *Discretion*, a legal drama series based on Chandler Bakerās short story of the same name, skipping the typical pilot phase and going straight to an eight-episode order. A24 will handle production, with filming planned to begin in 2026. Chandler Baker is the writer and an executive producer, and both Nicole Kidman and Dakota Fanning will star and also serve as executive producers. Susannah Grant, Jordan Cerf, Joe Hipps, Dakota Fanning, and Brittany Kahan Ward are also executive producers on the project.
In the legal thriller *Discretion*, Lenny Fanning, a summer intern at a top Dallas law firm, stumbles upon a hidden scandal concealed by numerous non-disclosure agreements. When she discovers sheās also bound by one of these agreements, she becomes a target of Sharon, a powerful partner at the firm ā and a woman who was once her mentor. The film explores the dangerous consequences of keeping secrets and who ultimately pays the price.
Nicole Kidman Now Has 2 Shows on Paramount+
Nicole Kidman is famous for her work in films like *Eyes Wide Shut*, *Batman Forever*, and *Practical Magic*. However, over the past ten years, she’s also built an impressive resume on television. After appearing in the popular HBO series *Big Little Lies*, she took the lead role in Huluās *Nine Perfect Strangers*, with its second season released in May. More recently, sheās been a main cast member in the Prime Video miniseries *Expats* and the Netflix series *The Perfect Couple*, both of which premiered in 2024.
Zoe SaldaƱa currently stars as Kaitlyn Meade, a CIA supervisor, in the spy thriller *Lioness* (also known as *Special Ops: Lioness*). The series is created by the mind behind popular shows like *Yellowstone*, *Tulsa King*, and *Mayor of Kingstown*. *Lioness* follows Joe McNamara (SaldaƱa) and her work leading the Lioness program, which involves sending female operatives on undercover missions to combat terrorism.
Season two of *Lioness* brought the fight against terrorism closer to home, introducing a new operative to tackle an unexpected threat. Joe (SaldaƱa), Kaitlyn (Kidman), and Byron (Michael Kelly) all worked together, but the pressure took a personal toll on Joe as she led the Lioness program. The show has been renewed for a third season, nearly a year after the second season finished airing on Paramount+ in December 2024. According to Deadline, the renewal was delayed while Nicole Kidman finalized her contract. Production for Season 3 is scheduled to begin this month.
Discretion will stream on Paramount+, but does not yet have a release window.
