Battlefield 6 Community Update Reveals Over 92 Million Hours Were Played During Open Beta

So, EA and the team at Battlefield Studios are gearing up to launch Battlefield 6 on October 10th, and they just dropped a new update about how the betas and playtests went. Apparently, players racked up a massive 92 million+ hours in the open beta! Plus, they’ve done over 30 Battlefield Labs sessions. They’re saying this makes Battlefield 6 the most thoroughly tested Battlefield game *ever*. It’s good to know they’re putting in the work to make sure it’s solid at launch.

Battlefield Studios is also updating how maps and game modes are selected based on player feedback. All maps available at launch will be playable in any playlist, giving players more choice. Dedicated playlists will be available for Conquest, Breakthrough, and Escalation, as well as combined playlists featuring modes like Conquest & Escalation and Breakthrough & Rush.

In Portal, the menu is being renamed to ‘Community.’ Battlefield Studios explains this is where players will find a server browser to easily locate the specific matches they want. The browser will initially support Breakthrough, Conquest, and Rush modes, and will also allow the developers to offer official Hardcore game modes.

When *Battlefield 6* launches, players will have lots of ways to play, including options for playing alone, using only certain weapons, fast-paced close-quarters combat, and large-scale All-Out Warfare. These playlists will be updated and expanded with new content and changes over time, depending on the game mode and maps.

Battlefield Studios says they’ve made over 200 improvements to how Battlefield 6 plays, fixing bugs, refining balance, and generally making the game smoother. Players should find that moving feels more immediate, and many weapons now handle differently, encouraging shorter, controlled bursts of fire instead of holding down the trigger.

Battlefield Studios has seen a lot of players ask for naval combat during beta tests and playtests. While they haven’t committed to adding it, the developers have acknowledged these requests, along with other popular suggestions like specific helicopters and the return of platoons.

The initial plans for the first season of *Battlefield 6* have been revealed. Season 1 begins on October 28th with the “Rogue Ops” update, adding a new map and a 4-on-4 game mode. The season’s content will be released in three parts: the first on October 28th, the second on November 18th, and the third on December 9th. You can find more information in our detailed coverage of the season.

Battlefield 6 will include a feature called Covert Operations, but details about it haven’t been shared yet. For information on all the new features coming to Battlefield 6, here’s a look at what’s different from Battlefield 2042.
