Melissa Rycroft is not hiding her pain.
Just weeks after being arrested for suspected drunk driving, the former contestant from season 13 of *The Bachelor* (which aired in 2009) has spoken about her experience and how she’s doing.
Melissa shared with a fan on Instagram that she’s going through a tough time. She wrote, ‘Life really sucks right now,’ but added that she’s trying to stay positive and appreciates the kind messages she’s received, especially given how negative things feel right now.
A fan writing to the winner of *Dancing With the Stars* pointed out that some people act as if they’ve never made a mistake.
A fan shared that they’d made a similar error over two years prior, explaining it was due to a really difficult time in their life. While acknowledging there’s no justification for the mistake, they emphasized the importance of remembering self-worth, saying, ‘Don’t ever forget that you are beautiful, loved, and blessed.’
Melissa hadn’t posted much recently, but she did share a message wishing her daughter good luck at her first drill team competition.
Melissa shared a photo with her daughter and wrote, ‘Tonight’s Sis’ first game – wish her good luck! And don’t mind me, I’m definitely not tearing up, *you* are!’
A former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader was arrested in Tarrant County, Texas, on September 23rd and charged with driving under the influence. According to jail records, the 42-year-old, who has three children with Tye Strickland, was released the next day after posting a $1,000 bond, as reported by People magazine.

Attorney Bret Martin reminded the public that everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty, a core principle of the justice system. In a statement on October 2nd, he explained that society seems to have forgotten this important idea, noting that his client’s arrest for driving while intoxicated is not proof of wrongdoing.
He emphasized the need to thoroughly investigate all aspects of this case—like what happened with the police, the toxicology reports, and the details of her arrest—before making any judgments.
