For years, *Ben 10* has been a popular show on Cartoon Network, leading to multiple reboots, movies, and other projects. After the most recent series concluded in 2021, fans hadn’t seen any new adventures with Ben Tennyson. But good news for fans: a revival has been announced! Ben will be back with fresh stories, and the creators are planning to introduce him to a new generation of viewers.
The creators of the original *Ben 10* – Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau, and Steven T. Seagle – are returning to the series with a new comic book published by IDW. This won’t be a continuation of any previous *Ben 10* storylines. Instead, it’s a fresh retelling of Ben’s origin story, aiming to introduce the character to a new audience. The first issue revisits how Ben gained his powers, but with some updates for a modern feel. Fans can rest assured that key elements that made the animated series so popular – like Grandpa and Gwen – will still be present. Plus, a familiar face will be joining them, as hinted at by the cover art.
Ben 10’s Big Comeback

Joe Casey, the creator of *Ben 10* and a comic book writer, shared details about the upcoming reboot. He said the team is excited to finally share their long-held vision for Ben and his world in a way they’ve always imagined. This new comic will be a full-fledged superhero series intended to stand alongside the biggest titles in the industry – essentially an *Ultimate* or *Absolute* version of *Ben 10*. Casey confidently stated that this will be the best *Ben 10* comic yet.
Recently, Ben 10 creator Duncan Rouleau has openly discussed both a potential reboot of the series and its original concepts. He’s expressed interest in exploring a more mature version of the character and revealed in a recent interview that Ben Tennyson’s powers were initially planned to be much different – focusing on harnessing the energy of the multiverse.
The initial concept involved Ben using the Omnitrix to swap bodies with different versions of himself from alternate universes. For example, they considered a vampire Ben from a world full of vampires, or a Ben who lived on an Earth where the ice caps had melted. Ultimately, they decided it was too confusing and disorienting, and they agreed it wasn’t going to work.
As of today, the new comic book series doesn’t have a release date yet, but we’ll share it with you as soon as we find out. Although a new *Ben 10* animated show hasn’t been officially announced, it’s obvious the creators are still very committed to continuing Ben Tennyson’s story.
