The next Battlefield game seems to be blending classic gameplay with a modern twist, including a new battle royale experience.
DICE and EA have confirmed the new game mode, which has been a hit in other popular shooting games like Call of Duty: Warzone. Battlefield is now joining the trend.
So, when could the Battlefield 6 battle royale release, and what can you expect from it?
Battlefield 6 battle royale mode release date speculation
The new battle royale feature won’t be available when Battlefield 6 first launches. It will be added to the game at a later date, though we don’t have a specific release date for it yet.
The plan for the first season of Battlefield 6 is out, and it doesn’t include a battle royale mode. Unless the developers at DICE announce something unexpected soon, it looks like we won’t see battle royale added for at least a few months.
We expect Battlefield 6 to get its battle royale mode in early 2026 with the release of Season 2.
What to expect from battle royale in Battlefield 6

The battle royale mode for the next Battlefield game is being tested through a program called Battlefield Labs. Players are trying it out now and sharing their feedback to help improve it before it officially releases, though a specific launch date hasn’t been announced.
DICE has attempted battle royale modes before, with Firestorm in Battlefield 5 and Hazard Zone in Battlefield 2042. Hopefully, their newest attempt will be an improvement.
We don’t have many details about the battle royale mode in the next Battlefield game yet, but DICE has shared a few confirmations.
This new mode will offer everything players love about the game – diverse character classes with unique skills, drivable vehicles such as tanks, and massive-scale destruction.
At the beginning of the game, players will have a pistol, grenade, and sledgehammer. They’ll need to quickly find better weapons to have a chance against other players.
During a match, you’ll gain experience points by defeating opponents and finishing goals. This XP unlocks new skills for your character class.
This new mode will feature massive maps, much larger than most of the multiplayer maps currently available in the game.
That’s all the information we have right now, but we’re continuing to monitor the situation and will share any updates as soon as they become available. Please check back for the latest news.
