The Spice Girls Reunite at Victoria Beckham’s Documentary Premiere

If you wanna be a Spice Girls fan, you gotta get with this reunion.

Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, and Mel C—three members of the Spice Girls—attended the London premiere of Victoria Beckham’s new Netflix documentary about her life on October 8th to show their support.

Okay, so the Spice Girls didn’t do a full group red carpet moment, which honestly, broke my heart a little! But they *definitely* treated the whole thing like a reunion, hanging out with each other and their families. It was so sweet to see them all together, even if it wasn’t the picture I was hoping for!

Oh my gosh, it was EVERYTHING! Emma, my Baby Spice, looked incredible with her son, Beau Bunton Jones – he’s 18 already, can you believe it?! And she was with Jade, of course. Then there was Geri – Ginger Spice, naturally – looking amazing with Christian and their sweet daughter, Olivia Horner, who’s eleven! Seriously, a total dream seeing them all together.

Mel C, known as Sporty Spice during her time in the group, attended the event with her boyfriend, Chris Dingwall. They both wore black suits.

Victoria Beckham certainly lived up to her ‘Posh Spice’ reputation, wearing a stylish all-white outfit in photos with her husband, David Beckham, and three of their children: Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14.

The premiere was missing one Spice Girl: Melanie “Mel B” Brown, also known as Scary Spice.

However, the singer still stays connected with her former bandmates. She shared that they all keep in touch through a group text chat.

“We really care about each other and want the best for one another,” she said in an interview with *The Sunday Times* in March. “What we shared was incredibly important, and we’ve always had a strong foundation of trust and support for each other, which is wonderful.”

Geri truly hopes they can collaborate on music again in the future with continued support. She believes it’s important for them to reunite as a group, saying, “I hope we can come back together as one—it would be the most respectful way.”

She added, “There will be something.”

For a look back at the Spice Girls through the years, keep reading.

In 1996, the Spice Girls exploded onto the music scene with their hit song “Wannabe.” They’ve since become the best-selling female group ever, selling more than 85 million records around the world.

The girl group delivered a memorable performance of “Say You’ll Be There” at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City. They also won the award for Best Dance Video that same year for their hit song, “Wannabe.”

How lucky is Prince Harry! This photo shows him with his father, Prince Charles, when they met the Spice Girls back in 1997.

Geri Halliwell, known as Ginger Spice, cemented the Spice Girls’ image when she wore a Union Jack mini-dress at the 1997 Brit Awards. Despite some initial debate, the memorable outfit later sold for over $58,000 to benefit charity.

Released in December 1997, *Spice World: The Movie* quickly became a huge success. Even twenty years later, it’s still a beloved classic, and recently played in U.K. cinemas to mark its anniversary!

As a lifelong fan, seeing that 1998 photo of Posh, Scary, Sporty, Baby, and Ginger Spice together always gives me a thrill! It’s a little bittersweet, though, because just two years later, they announced they were taking a break from the Spice Girls to pursue their own individual music projects. It felt like the end of an era, but I’ve always hoped for a reunion!

In 2007, the Spice Girls reunited for a hugely popular world tour that sold out incredibly quickly – in just 38 seconds! They also performed at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show that year in Hollywood.

The popular girl group got back together after four years to celebrate the opening night of *Viva Forever!*, a new musical based on their career.

The Spice Girls reunited for a performance of their most popular songs, including “Wannabe” and “Spice Up Your Life,” at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony.

In 2016, Melanie Brown, Geri Halliwell, and Emma Bunton revealed plans for a new group called GEM. Although a song called “Song for Her” appeared online, the project seemed to be paused when Geri Halliwell announced she was expecting her second child.

Social media exploded when all five Spice Girls shared this photo back in February 2018!

The Spice Girls released a statement expressing their joy at reconnecting and remembering their time together. They were touched by the global excitement surrounding the group and feel ready to explore new projects. They agreed that these opportunities will stay true to the spirit of The Spice Girls and continue to promote female empowerment for years to come.

In late 2018, the Spice Girls—Geri, Emma, and the Mels—announced they were reuniting for a tour, though Victoria Beckham chose to focus on her fashion business and didn’t participate. The tour kicked off on May 24, 2019, at Croake Park in Dublin, Ireland, and finished with three shows at London’s Wembley Stadium. It was a huge success, earning over $78 million and demonstrating that the group’s message of ‘Girl Power’ still resonates with fans.
