Jodie Whittaker reveals the iconic TV role she would have shaved her head for

Jodie Whittaker, currently appearing in ITV’s Frauds and known for her roles in shows like Toxic Town, Time, Broadchurch, and Doctor Who, has admitted there’s one role she always hoped to land.

She expressed her wish to have played Eleven in Stranger Things, saying she would have especially enjoyed the role’s distinctive look – a shaved head and being a child character.

I was immediately struck by Millie Bobby Brown’s role when I first watched the show. The first season was fantastic – it cleverly referenced all the things I love about the genre, and her part was amazing. I remember thinking that if I’d been a child actor, I would have loved to play that role, though I never had a chance to audition.

Whittaker chuckled and asked if there was any bad feeling towards Millie Bobby Brown. She then jokingly wondered if she could have looked younger with a little help from some tape.

Fans of Stranger Things are eagerly awaiting the show’s fifth and final season, which will be released in three parts beginning later this year. Meanwhile, Jenna Whittaker is currently starring as the con artist Sam in the ITV series Frauds, alongside Suranne Jones.

Even though the characters are quite over-the-top, there’s still something relatable about them, especially in how they interact as friends.

She recently reappeared as the Doctor in Doctor Who, making a brief appearance in Ncuti Gatwa’s last episode, and has expressed her willingness to return to the show in the future.

“Being able to return to Doctor Who is pure joy,” she told The Times. “If I were asked in twenty years to write an episode with the Thirteenth Doctor making a comeback, I wouldn’t even think twice. It’s just wonderful.”

Frauds is available to stream on ITVX now.
