Emmerdale hit by schedule shake-up on ITV1 tonight

ITV has changed its schedule, so the popular soap opera Emmerdale won’t be on tonight, October 9th.

The show usually airs weekdays at 7:30pm, and treats fans to an hour-long episode on Thursdays.

Emmerdale is being moved from its usual time today because ITV is broadcasting the England versus Wales football match instead.

The match will be broadcast live from Wembley Stadium between 7pm and 10:05pm, with ITV News at Ten following immediately after, until 10:35pm.

Good news for fans: the show is returning to its regular Friday night timeslot. However, there will be some additional schedule adjustments next week.

Okay, soap opera fans, heads up! If you’re planning to watch Emmerdale on Tuesday, October 14th, you might want to adjust your schedule. It’s being taken off the air *again*, this time to make room for the England versus Latvia World Cup qualifying match. So, football takes precedence, and Emmerdale will be back when the game wraps up. It’s a bit frustrating for us daily viewers, but that’s how it goes during big sporting events!

The game will be played at Daugava Stadium in Riga, starting at 7:45 PM. Live coverage will begin at 7:00 PM and continue until 10:05 PM.

Emmerdale will resume its regular broadcasting for the remainder of the week.

This week, viewers saw Charity Dingle’s lies about her baby become even more complicated and intense.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1. Stream on ITVX.
