Selena Gomez has hope that her life will imitate her magical art.
Following the season finale of *Wizards Beyond Waverly Place*, the actress – who married Benny Blanco in September – expressed her desire to have a child, inspired by her character’s storyline.
Selena Gomez shared a clip and wrote on Instagram on October 9th that her former character, Alex Russo, is a mother, expressing her hope to one day have that experience herself.
Selena shared her feelings after the dramatic season finale, which saw Alex make the ultimate sacrifice to prevent a world-ending disaster. This happened right after the surprising revelation that Billie (played by Janice LeAnn Brown) was actually her daughter.
Selena, 33, doesn’t have children yet, but she’s talked about wanting to have a family. She’s also shared how her health issues have made that challenging.
I was really touched by Selena’s openness in her recent Vanity Fair interview. She shared something incredibly personal – that she sadly won’t be able to carry her own children. It’s due to some serious health challenges she’s facing, and she explained it’s a risk to both her life and the baby’s. It takes a lot of courage to talk about something so difficult, and I admire her for being so honest.
She added that this “was something I had to grieve for a while.”
Selena and Benny, who became a couple in 2023, are hopeful about having a family when they’re ready, as they continue to navigate Selena’s health challenges.
The singer of “Younger and Hotter Than Me” shared on the Jay Shetty podcast in March that while she doesn’t know what the future holds, she loves kids. She enjoys making them laugh and finds them incredibly sweet, and is really looking forward to having children someday.
Selena has been thinking about becoming a mother and how it might change her career and life in the public eye. She’s considering how motherhood will fit with her work and fame.
Selena recently mentioned on the *Good Hang* podcast that she expects to establish stronger personal boundaries, especially once she has children. She explained she’ll do this to protect her mental well-being, though she isn’t yet sure exactly how those boundaries will look.
I feel like I should share a smile, hug, or photo with everyone, and it’s tough when I can’t. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people, so it’s hard to hold back.

The star of *Duck Dynasty* and her husband, Jacob Mayo, have publicly shared their reasons for discussing their difficulties with getting pregnant on their family’s new reality show.
As someone who often talks about living your most authentic life, I’ve learned it’s so important to share the full story – the ups *and* the downs. Jacob and I recently opened up in an interview with *Us Weekly* about our journey with infertility, something we hadn’t really discussed publicly before. It really hit home for me how easy it is to judge what you *see* on social media, but you truly have no idea what anyone is going through behind the scenes. It’s a powerful reminder to practice empathy and remember everyone has their own struggles.
They felt it was a good fit, and it let them be genuine and true to themselves on the new show.
As a lifestyle expert, I remember following Olivia Culpo’s journey closely. Even before her relationship with Christian McCaffrey became public, she bravely opened up about her endometriosis diagnosis. She shared her concerns that it might impact her ability to have children down the road, and it was really powerful to see her speak so honestly about a challenging health issue, well before announcing her pregnancy.
Olivia Culpo revealed on her show, *The Culpo Sisters*, that she wants to have children but is concerned about her ability to do so. She was diagnosed with a medical condition in 2020 and underwent surgery, and she shared that having babies could be difficult for her.
Endometriosis can impact fertility in several ways,” she explained. “It can cause tissue to grow around or on the ovaries, potentially lower egg quality, and even block the fallopian tubes with scarring.
Caelynn from Bachelor Nation recently opened up about the challenges she and her husband, Dean Bell, have faced trying to have a baby since they got married in 2023.
In a YouTube video from March 2025, Caelynn shared that she was taking a more relaxed approach. ‘It’s hard,’ she said, ‘so I’m not putting as much pressure on myself as I did when I first started trying.’
Even though it’s been a difficult time emotionally, Caelynn is staying optimistic while she and her husband undergo medical tests to understand what’s happening.

In a heartfelt birthday message to her son on his 7th birthday in July 2024, she shared that they feel complete as a family, especially as they begin trying for another child. Michelle Yeoh, known for her role in *Everything Everywhere All At Once*, has spoken about the difficulties she faced when trying to get pregnant with her first husband, Dickson Poon. She married Jean Todt in 2023 after being engaged for 19 years.
Michelle recently revealed in a podcast interview that she always dreamed of having children. She explained she underwent fertility treatments to help make that happen, but found the monthly process incredibly difficult. She described feeling like a failure each month when it wasn’t successful.
She explained that eventually, you need to stop blaming yourself. Sometimes, our bodies simply don’t work the way we expect, and that’s okay. The key is to accept it and keep moving forward.
The rapper, who has a son named Wilde with her husband Maximillion Cooper, previously revealed she suffered a devastating miscarriage caused by an ectopic pregnancy while working on her TV show, *Eve*.
In her memoir, *Who’s That Girl?*, Eve revealed that she discovered she was pregnant in 2006. She needed immediate surgery, which meant taking a two-week break from filming. Looking back, she admits she’s not sure why she told everyone on set she had a burst appendix – perhaps because she wasn’t even honest with herself about the situation.
She explained that if she lost her baby, she wasn’t sure two weeks would be enough time to recover emotionally. Ultimately, even that short time wasn’t quite enough for her body to heal physically, as she had to return to work on set very quickly. She had lost a lot of weight during the recovery process and was feeling very weak.
Selling Sunset star Maya Vander has openly discussed the challenges she and her husband, Romain Bonnet, faced while trying to have a baby. She was just 15 years old when she gave birth to their son, Austin.

The real estate agent also mentioned their pet, Thor, saying their son, Romaine, absolutely loves him. Even if the sale doesn’t go through, Romaine is content because he has Thor, and they’ll be alright. They’re trying to stay positive and believe things will work out as they should.
NFL broadcaster Erin Andrews and her husband, Jarret Stoll, became parents to their son, Mack, in July 2023. Their path to parenthood hasn’t always been easy, as they previously faced a challenge when Erin was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2017.
After freezing her eggs before starting cancer treatment, she used IVF to get pregnant and decided to publicly share her journey.
She explained that she finally felt she needed to speak up after years of silence. Sharing her experiences in a 2021 essay was a relief, as going through it had been incredibly difficult and emotionally draining. She described feeling detached and overwhelmed, like she was simply going through the motions while facing a constant stream of bad news.
She explained that she’s comfortable speaking openly and honestly about how difficult the experience was, and that she understands how many couples and families struggle with trying to have a child.
