Okay, so *Battlefield 2042* is finally here, and even with all the server queues, it’s been a crazy launch! I managed to get in, and Steam says over 747,000 of us were playing at the same time! I’m guessing that number will just keep going up this weekend as more people jump in.
Even if sales slow down, this is already the most successful launch in the series on Steam, surpassing both *Battlefield 5* (116,104 players) and *Battlefield 2042* (107,376). While it’s still too soon to draw firm conclusions from player reviews – there are currently only 825 – the game has a “Mixed” rating, with just 58% of players giving it a positive review. Players are complaining about issues like needing specific hardware settings (Secure Boot and TPM 2.0), long wait times to join matches, and the absence of a Closed Weapons mode in Conquest.
Battlefield 6 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Our review highlighted strong multiplayer features, well-designed maps, and impressive visuals, but also pointed out areas for improvement in the single-player campaign and user interface. We also have a guide with helpful tips and tricks, including useful settings and how to effectively use cover.
