Amid Season 3 Delay, Solo Leveling Shares Exciting Update For Fans

The anime series based on *Solo Leveling* began in 2024, with the second season arriving in January 2025. The story was already incredibly popular worldwide thanks to the original web novel by Chugong and its manhwa (Korean comic) adaptation. Although both the web novel and manhwa have finished their stories, the anime has only covered the Jeju Island Arc so far. Fans are especially excited for Season 3 because there are still many thrilling parts of the story left to adapt. It’s been several months since Season 2 ended, and the animation studio, A-1 Pictures, hasn’t announced any news about a third season, suggesting the wait will be a long one.

Following the end of the popular webnovel *Solo Leveling*, a sequel called *Solo Leveling: Ragnarok* by Daul quickly gained attention from fans. Adapted as a manhwa and released last year, it tells the story of Sung Jinwoo’s son, Suho. Building on the success of the original, *Ragnarok* became an instant hit. Now, over a year after its initial release, Ize Press has announced the first-ever English print edition of the series. The announcement was made at New York Comic Con 2025 and shared on Ize Press’s official X account. While a specific release date hasn’t been announced, it’s expected to be sometime next year. Currently, the English version of the manhwa is available digitally on the Tapas website and app.

Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Is a Spin-Off of the Original Story

When *Solo Leveling: Ragnarok* first came out, many fans thought it was a continuation of the original *Solo Leveling* story. However, the author of *Solo Leveling*, Chugong, recently clarified that it’s actually a spin-off created as a treat for fans. He wanted to see another writer’s take on the *Solo Leveling* world. While *Ragnarok* takes place in the same universe, it doesn’t follow the main storyline – think of it like the different universes you see in Marvel stories.

A recent comment cleared up a big misunderstanding about the *Ragnarok* series, but it hasn’t changed how much fans enjoy it. Many people initially thought the series started a few years after the original story ended, following Jinwoo’s surprising choice to save the world. However, *Ragnarok* actually begins with an explanation of the Supreme Beings creating and overseeing multiple universes.

The gods found entertainment in the wars and struggles of humans, but their amusement ended when one of them was killed by their own creation. Meanwhile, Suho, a college student, discovers hidden powers when strange gates appear. He then sets out to overcome the dangerous Shadow Dungeon and battle powerful cosmic entities to protect the world. The original novel finished in July 2025, and a comic adaptation is still being released, with 58 chapters available so far.
