Worldwide stars are expressing their condolences and honoring the memory of Julian McMahon following his passing on July 2nd, at the age of 56.
Over a long career that spanned several decades, the Australian actor became widely recognized for his prominent roles in various high-profile productions. Some of these notable appearances included blockbuster movies like Fantastic Four from 2005 and its follow-up, Rise of the Silver Surfer.
On the television screen, he received praise for his depiction of Dr. Christian Troy in the medical drama Nip/Tuck from 2003 to 2010, which even led to a nomination for a Golden Globe award. He also amassed a devoted fanbase through his portrayal of half-demon Cole Turner on the fantasy series Charmed from 2000 to 2005.
The star passed away in Clearwater, Florida, after being diagnosed with cancer.
In the honors paid to McMahon, it was Nicolas Cage, a renowned figure from Hollywood, who referred to him as both kind and intelligent. This assessment came following their recent on-screen collaboration in the film The Surfer during this year.
In an interview with Deadline, Nicolas Cage expressed his deep sadness, stating, “I’ve just learned some heartbreaking news. Over a span of six weeks, I had the privilege of collaborating with Julian, and he was undeniably one of the most gifted actors I’ve ever worked with.
Among the scenes we shared on The Surfer, some are among my all-time favorites I’ve been part of. Julian is undoubtedly one of my cherished individuals. He was not only kind but also incredibly intelligent. My warmest regards go out to his family.
Ioan Gruffudd, who played the Fantastic Four, expressed his sadness as well, stating, “I’m deeply saddened by the news about Julian.
Despite being sworn enemies on the field, our time spent collaborating was filled with lightheartedness and joviality. Each moment I shared with him was a source of delight.
In the meantime, Dylan Walsh, a co-star of McMahon from Nip/Tuck, expressed on social media: “Jules, I’m certain you’d appreciate some lighthearted words – all those private jokes we shared.
“All those years you had my back, and my god, we laughed. My heart is with you. Rest in peace.”
