8 Huge MCU Spoilers We Just Learned (That Marvel Actually Want You To Know)

New York Comic Con happened this weekend and, as usual, offered exciting news about upcoming projects from popular franchises. Fans had the chance to meet and get autographs from stars like Laurence Fishburne, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Charlie Cox. Marvel was also there, announcing more details about its future TV shows, including a second season of *Daredevil: Born Again*. Updates and sneak peeks were also shared for *VisionQuest* and *Wonder Man*, with a full trailer released online for *Wonder Man* to get fans hyped.

We were already looking forward to the new Marvel movies and shows, especially since it feels like the franchise is getting back on track after a bit of a rough patch. Now we’re even more excited! Let’s start with *Wonder Man*.

8) White Vision Has His Former Self’s Memories in VisionQuest

Okay, so let’s talk about Vision in *WandaVision*. The Vision we see for most of the series isn’t the *real* Vision, at least not initially. He’s a construct, entirely born from Wanda’s powers and a hefty dose of Chaos magic. But before she conjures him up, the show opens with Wanda desperately trying to give the *actual* Vision a proper burial. It’s heartbreaking, because we quickly learn S.W.O.R.D. had already taken him apart, piece by piece.

After S.W.O.R.D. put him back together, Vision appeared pale and ghostly. With a touch of Chaos magic, he was able to move and speak again, but he wasn’t the same Vision that Wanda loved. This new, white version was created to destroy her. The two Visions then fought, until Wanda’s Vision convinced the White Vision to accept his memories, effectively restoring him.

I’m so excited for *VisionQuest*! It looks like this new Vision will be grappling with his past – trying to understand all the memories he has alongside the more forceful programming he received. The trailer really confirms they’re continuing that storyline from *WandaVision*, which I loved. Basically, just like the original Vision, he’s going to have to figure out what all these feelings – love, honor, everything – actually *mean* to him. It’s going to be a really powerful and interesting story, I can feel it!

7) VisionQuest Will Have Returning Iron Man AIs… In Human Form

VisionQuest has officially been confirmed as the final installment in a three-part story arc. WandaVision kicked off not only this trilogy, but also the wave of Marvel series on Disney+. Agatha All Along continued the story, and now VisionQuest will bring it to a thrilling conclusion, solidifying its place in the official Marvel Universe.

What’s generating all the buzz? Beyond Paul Bettany’s solid performance, this installment will feature the return of several beloved characters from the series – but with a fresh and unexpected twist.

The upcoming series, *VisionQuest*, will reimagine key AI characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as real people. The show’s first look begins with White Vision returning home to a welcome from familiar AI voices – F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., Dum-E, and J.A.R.V.I.S.

Some voice roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are being recast. Emily Hampshire is now the voice of E.D.I.T.H., taking over from Dawn Michelle King, who previously voiced the AI in *Spider-Man: Far From Home*. Orla Brady will voice F.R.I.D.A.Y., replacing Kerry Condon, who voiced the character in several films including *Avengers: Age of Ultron*, *Captain America: Civil War*, *Spider-Man: Homecoming*, *Avengers: Infinity War*, and *Avengers: Endgame*, as well as an episode of *Marvel Zombies*. James D’Arcy is returning as Edwin Jarvis, a role he originated in *Agent Carter* and later appeared in a cameo in *Avengers: Endgame*, and voiced again for an episode of *What If…?*

6) Wonder Man‘s First Details Reveal Comedy & A Weird Meta Storyline

Wonder Man began his comic book career as an enemy of the Avengers, using his unique ionic energy powers against them. However, he eventually switched sides and became a valuable ally, ultimately growing into one of Marvel’s strongest heroes.

The new *Wonder Man* show has a clever twist: Simon Williams, who *is* Wonder Man, is actually an actor auditioning for the role of Wonder Man in a movie remake. He’s not the only one trying out – Trevor Slattery (played by Ben Kingsley), known from *Iron Man 3* and *Shang-Chi*, is also up for the part, hoping to revitalize his career after previously portraying a villain for the wrong reasons.

The series *Wonder Man* brings together Ben Kingsley and director Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously worked on *Shang-Chi*. Cretton was also recently chosen to direct the new *Spider-Man* film, *Brand New Day*. Early hints suggested *Wonder Man* would be self-aware, but the trailer reveals a show that feels completely unique within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

5) Ultron Is Back, but Not As We Remember Him

The Marvel Cinematic Universe also features dangerous artificial intelligence, most notably Ultron – the AI that destroyed Tony Stark’s J.A.R.V.I.S. It’s been almost eleven years since Ultron last appeared, and now, for the upcoming *VisionQuest*, we’ll see him portrayed in a completely new way – with James Spader, the actor who voiced him, making a physical appearance, and sporting a significant beard.

James Spader’s time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is similar to Sam Rockwell’s – while the films they appeared in (*Avengers: Age of Ultron* and *Iron Man 2*, respectively) weren’t universally loved, Spader’s performance was consistently praised. Fans have been hoping for him to return in a stronger project ever since, and it looks like that time is coming. In the upcoming *VisionQuest*, Spader will play a significant role, introducing White Vision to someone Red Vision previously knew – a person White Vision technically remembers, but feels no emotional connection to.

4) VisionQuest Will Also Have an Adult Tommy

Since *VisionQuest* appears to be the concluding part of a story that began with *WandaVision*, it’s logical that the series will tie up loose ends. One example is Tommy, who was shown meeting White Vision in the trailer.

I was so thrilled to meet Billy Maximoff, who we now know as the grown-up Wiccan, in *Agatha All Along*! It got me thinking about his twin brother, Tommy. In the comics, Tommy grows up to be a lot like his uncle, Quicksilver – he actually becomes Speed, and joins the Young Avengers with incredible super speed. I’m really hoping we get to see that happen in the show!

It’s unclear exactly how Tommy and White Vision will interact, but it’s bound to be challenging for Tommy to connect with a being who is essentially a reborn version of his father. Ruaridh Mollica, known for his performance in the 2024 film *Sebastian*, will play Tommy.

3) X-Men ’97‘s Big Villain Revealed

Brad Winderbaum, who leads Marvel Television and Marvel Animation, hasn’t announced a specific release date for *X-Men ’97* Season 2, but he did confirm it will arrive sometime next summer. Fans will likely be pleased to hear the new season will be made with the same attention to detail and quality as the highly praised first season, even though it means a bit of a wait.

There’s more good news: Season 3 is officially happening! Plus, we now know Season 2 will focus on the ‘Age of Apocalypse’ storyline. While things are going to get tough for the animated mutants, it promises to be a thrilling season. We briefly saw a young Apocalypse at the end of Season 1, but this is our first real glimpse of the fully powered, adult version of the character.

2) Venom Is Joining Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

The first episode of *Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man* featured Doctor Strange battling an alien symbiote, but it wasn’t Venom. Good news for fans – Venom and Spider-Gwen (Gwen Stacy) will both appear in Season 2! Plus, Charlie Cox is returning to voice Daredevil, just like he did in Season 1.

Similar to *X-Men ’97*, we don’t have a specific release date yet, but we know it’s coming in Fall 2026, shortly after the second season of *’97*.

It’s still unclear who will voice Venom and Spider-Gwen. Fans are wondering if Hailee Steinfeld will return as Spider-Gwen, continuing from her role in the *Spider-Verse* movies. There’s also speculation that Sadie Sink might take on the role if she’s playing Stacy in the upcoming *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*. While neither casting seems very probable right now, it will be interesting to see who they choose.

1) Foggy Returns in Daredevil: Born Again‘s Second Season

Krysten Ritter is returning as Jessica Jones in *Daredevil: Born Again*, marking her first appearance since her own show ended after season three. Elden Henson will also reprise his role as Foggy Nelson, despite his character being seemingly killed off by Bullseye in the very first episode of *Born Again*, titled “Heaven’s Half Hour.”

There’s a twist with Foggy’s return: he appears to be deceased. We’ll only see him through flashbacks, but that’s still a welcome way to revisit a fan-favorite character.

Henson was so captivating in his role that even his short appearance in one episode of *Born Again* was memorable. Foggy Nelson is a key character in the *Daredevil* universe, and fans will be glad to see him return, even if primarily through flashbacks in Matt Murdock’s memories, or through Karen Page, as Deborah Ann Woll is also confirmed to reprise her role in opposing the Kingpin.
