As many predicted, Battlefield 6 has launched successfully, topping the UK’s chart for physical game sales.
EA’s popular team-based shooter is currently the best-selling game, and most physical copies – 82% – are for the PlayStation 5.
This new game has overtaken Ghost of Yotei in popularity, pushing the previously popular PS5 exclusive down to third place, much like it did when it first launched.
Electronic Arts is starting the holiday season strong with two major releases: Battlefield 6 and EA Sports FC 26. These two games represent a powerful opening for the company.
It will be interesting to see if the game continues to perform well globally as more sales figures become available. While Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is also coming soon, these initial sales numbers for BF6 are a positive sign, suggesting it still has a good chance of success.
Presumably, EA will publish official sales or player numbers in due course.
With a very successful and well-received open beta, Battlefield 6 is currently positioned for a strong launch.
Little Nightmares 3 entered the chart at number six, and Grand Theft Auto V surprisingly returned to the top ten at number ten.
