A trailer for the second season of *Daredevil: Born Again* unexpectedly appeared online, posted by one of the show’s actors. Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Daredevil, facing off against Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, who is building up the police force to fight vigilantes. The new season will introduce fresh enemies for Daredevil and bring back some returning characters, including a significant member of the Defenders team.
A trailer for the second season of *Daredevil: Born Again* was leaked online after being shown at New York Comic Con. Interestingly, Krysten Ritter actually shared a clip from the trailer on her Instagram story *before* the full leak. The footage showed Ritter returning as Jessica Jones, and revealed she’ll be joining forces with Matt Murdock to battle Kingpin and his criminal network. Marvel Studios quickly had the Instagram story removed.
Currently, Marvel hasn’t announced when the full trailer for Season 2 of *Born Again* will be released. However, with the show expected to premiere in March 2026, fans likely won’t have to wait too much longer to see it. Alongside *Born Again*, Marvel also shared previews of *Wonder Man*, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and *Vision Quest*, a continuation of *WandaVision* with Paul Bettany. Disney+ has already released the *Wonder Man* footage, which shows a comedic story about a man trying to make it as a movie star in Hollywood.
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Scrapped a Punisher Bottle Episode
Netflix
The upcoming second season of *Daredevil: Born Again* will be the first made with a consistent creative team. The first season faced major production issues, resulting in the number of episodes being cut from 18 to 9 and forcing the removal of several planned storylines. Writer Jesse Wigutow recently shared that an episode focusing on the Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Echo (Alaqua Cox) was cut during development, likely because it didn’t fit with the season’s overall narrative.
A few years ago, the idea was to create a standalone story featuring the Punisher interacting with the world of Daredevil. I later became involved to help develop this concept, which centered around an unusual night shared between the Punisher and Echo – a compelling narrative connection, but not a romantic one. While the project faced some development challenges and was part of an earlier plan, it’s possible the idea could resurface in the future.
It appears that both the Punisher and Echo won’t be in Season 2 of *Born Again*. Plans for episodes featuring them have been put on hold. Footage shown at New York Comic Con indicates the new season will mainly focus on Daredevil and Jessica Jones working together, alongside the villain Bullseye. While Punisher and Echo haven’t been completely ruled out, it’s looking increasingly unlikely they’ll appear. We’ll know for sure when the series returns to Disney+ in March 2026.
