Sami Raimi is known for a fantastic collection of films, including classics like *Evil Dead* and the original *Spider-Man* trilogy. However, his smaller horror projects are consistently interesting, and we recently received a trailer for his latest, *Send Help*, which is being described as a darkly funny and suspenseful psychological thriller.
After a plane crash, coworkers Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams) and Bradley Preston (Dylan O’Brien) are the only people left on a deserted island. They have to put aside their differences and learn to cooperate to survive, but their efforts quickly turn into a tense and darkly funny competition to escape.
The film features a talented cast including Rachel McAdams, known for her roles in “Spotlight,” “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.”, and “Mean Girls”; Dylan O’Brien (“Twinless,” “Saturday Night”); Edyll Ismail (“La Brea”); Dennis Haysbert (“Far from Heaven”); Xavier Samuel (“Elvis”); Chris Pang (“Crazy Rich Asians”); Thaneth Warakulnukroh (“Thai Cave Rescue”); and Emma Raimi (“Happy Pills”).
I’m a big fan of stories with compelling characters who really get tested, and that’s exactly what director Sam Raimi delivers. He says the story builds tension beautifully, with power constantly changing hands and throwing in surprises at every turn. It’s a really suspenseful ride!
Sam Raimi most recently directed the Marvel film *Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness* (2022), featuring Rachel McAdams. This new movie marks the first time McAdams and Dylan O’Brien have worked together, and early impressions suggest it could be a very entertaining thriller.
Send help is released in cinemas on 6th February 2026.
