Peacemaker’s Popular Martian Manhunter Theory Debunked

Fans speculated that Season 2 of *Peacemaker* secretly introduced the new version of Martian Manhunter for the DC Universe. James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, recently confirmed whether or not the Justice League hero appeared in the show, and also clarified a related fan theory.

James Gunn confirms Langston Fleury is not Martian Manhunter

So, I was scrolling through social media and saw James Gunn tackling fan theories, and a big one got debunked! Apparently, a lot of people thought Tim Meadows’ character, Langston Fleury from A.R.G.U.S., was secretly the Martian Manhunter. Gunn put that to rest on Threads, confirming Fleury isn’t J’onn J’onzz. It’s good to get that cleared up, even if it means one less mystery in the DCU!

In a response to a fan, the celebrated director said, “That’s not true.” He also admitted he was puzzled by criticism that the Peacemaker Season 2 finale didn’t have enough major plot twists, pointing out, “I don’t understand why people don’t see the big reveals, like the introductions of Checkmate and Salvation.”

Before James Gunn set things straight, a lot of us fans were convinced that Langston Fleury from ‘Peacemaker’ was secretly the Martian Manhunter! When he showed up in Season 2 and couldn’t tell different birds apart, it just fueled the theory. Everyone online started thinking it was his way of figuring out humans, like he was an alien trying to blend in – and that he had to be J’onn J’onzz! It was a fun idea, but now we know better.

A line from James Gunn’s new Superman movie has sparked speculation about the possible appearance of Martian Manhunter in the DC Universe. During a confrontation with Superman, Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult, makes a comment about not being attracted to someone who is “tall, dark, and Martian.” This reference has excited fans, as Zack Snyder previously established Harry Lennix’s character as Martian Manhunter in the previous DC movie universe, and many think Gunn might be using a similar reveal in the new DCU.

James Gunn has confirmed the rumor is false. It’s still unknown when, or if, Martian Manhunter will appear in the DC Universe.
