The latest episode of Disney+’s *Marvel Zombies* featured another battle between Thor and Hulk, and the outcome might shock viewers. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe has introduced several powerful heroes in recent years – including Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Ikaris, and Adam Warlock – when the Avengers initially came together in 2012, the competition for the title of strongest hero was really just between Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor.

I’ll never forget the first time Hulk and Thor went at it – it was epic! Right there on the Hellicarrier in *The Avengers*, they were just throwing hands until they finally managed to get Hulk to calm down by, well, sending him plummeting to the ground. In the Marvel Zombies storyline, Bruce Banner became the Infinity Hulk, gaining the power of all six Infinity Stones. He not only used this immense energy, but also protected the dangerous Infinity Storm, preventing anyone from approaching it.

Everything led to a massive battle in Episode 4, where a zombie version of Thor, powered up by Scarlet Witch’s chaotic magic, fought the Infinity Hulk. Wanda was trying to use the Infinity Stones to fix the world.

As a huge Marvel fan, seeing Zombie Thor and the Infinity Hulk fight in *Marvel Zombies* was insane! They were just trading these unbelievably powerful blows – seriously, the kind of strength we almost never see from heroes on our main Earth-616. It was a brutal clash of forces, and they really showcased how devastating their powers could be.

I was completely blown away watching Thor! It’s obvious Scarlet Witch gave him some incredible abilities. He actually breathed this wild, chaotic energy – like a dragon – and used it against the Infinity Hulk. It was insane!

But the attack only briefly surprised the gamma monster, who was powered by cosmic energy. He quickly retaliated, sending his opponent flying upwards, preparing to deliver a devastating finishing strike.

In a particularly shocking scene from the R-rated comic series *Marvel Zombies*, the Infinity Hulk brutally killed Zombie Thor by dropping from the sky and crushing his skull.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hulk has defeated Thor in their fights in *The Avengers* and *Ragnarok*, bringing his win-loss record against the God of Thunder to three victories and zero losses.

Okay, so the Red Queen took a serious hit when her zombie lost, but she’s seriously resourceful. She managed to catch the Infinity Hulk off guard and steal his cosmic power! But even *that* wasn’t enough. She still needed Kamala Khan – Ms. Marvel – to pull off her master plan, and unfortunately, she got the help she needed. The result? A brand new Hex world, and honestly, it’s pretty terrifying. It was a clever, if disturbing, move on her part.

Okay, so we just saw Thor and Hulk go at it again, only this time they were both seriously powered up. But honestly, for me, the real standout in this battle was Wanda Maximoff. And the story isn’t quite finished – that ending to *Marvel Zombies* definitely set things up for a second season, which, given how well Season 1 actually did with viewers, seems pretty likely to happen.

The *Marvel Zombies* series is known for its intense and violent fights between heroes, but the battle between Zombie Captain Marvel and Ikaris stood out. Their destructive fight completely reshaped a part of Pennsylvania, creating a scarred landscape now called the Valley of the Broken Gods.

The MCU’s Original Avengers Actors Might Be Reuniting in Phase 6

Although Chris Hemsworth wasn’t in *Marvel Zombies*, he’s scheduled to return as Thor in *Avengers: Doomsday* next year, and he’s anticipated to have a significant part in the film.

Mark Ruffalo is confirmed to reprise his role as Bruce Banner in *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, and his version of the Hulk will be even more intimidating than before. While it’s not yet known if he’ll appear in *Doomsday* or *Secret Wars*, it’s likely his involvement will depend on the events of *Spider-Man 4*.

Hulk and Thor are two of the three original Avengers still actively involved, with Hawkeye being the third. However, many fans believe Chris Evans will return as Captain America for a future story, possibly titled *Doomsday*, where they’ll face off against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.
