Despite wrapping up its manga in September 2024 and concluding its second season in December 2023, the hype for Jujutsu Kaisen hasn‘t waned one bit. The confirmation of Season 3 was quick to follow, with a short teaser promising the Culling Game Arc adaptation – as anticipated. Since then, a year and a half has passed, and we’ve only been treated to a stunning teaser visual at Jump Festa 2025 featuring Yuji Itadori. No trailer, new key visual, or release window have been announced yet, but the production remains the focus instead. In spite of this, fans are still eagerly anticipating what’s in store – even if it isn’t exactly in the format they were hoping for.
During the entire duration of the event, MAPPA has been primarily working on the compilation film titled “Hidden Inventory/Premature Death,” which debuted in Japan on May 30th, 2025. This film will also make its way to U.S. cinemas on July 16th, 2025. The film doesn’t just cover the events of the arc; it also features additional scenes and visuals from Gojo and Geto’s past. The initial season was launched in Fall 2020, with the second season picking up the storyline in Summer 2023. Given the gap between these two seasons, it’s reasonable to assume that Season 3 might premiere next year. At Anime Expo, a panel for “Jujutsu Kaisen” was held, showcasing the voice actors and providing updates about the upcoming film. However, more details regarding Season 3 are still pending.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Still Doesn’t Have a Trailer
The Anime Expo, an annual gathering that’s been happening in California for more than three decades, is renowned as the largest anime convention. It delights global fans by dishing out exciting news about upcoming projects, celebrating Japanese pop culture, hosting workshops, and much more. This year, it didn’t unveil a trailer or key visual, but the updates on production were positively enthralling. They hinted at actions even more thrilling than Season 2, and a dramatic showdown between two of its main characters – Yuji and Yuta. The event also featured a question-and-answer session with the voice actors behind these characters, Junya Enoki and Megumi Okata.
In addition, they revealed a snippet of Junya’s voiceovers, indicating that production for Season 3 is ongoing. Although there’s no new trailer or update as of now, the voice actors hinted that we might not have to wait much longer. Given that recording is in progress, it’s likely that we’ll get a sneak peek this year, possibly at Jump Festa 2026 scheduled for December 2025. Based on MAPPA’s typical timeline, we can tentatively anticipate Season 3 in the following year, but no definite details have been provided yet.
The forthcoming season will delve into Yuji Itadori’s Extermination and the Perfect Preparation storylines before moving on to the Culling Game plotline. The second season concludes with a dramatic twist as Yuta vows to take Yuji’s life personally. This is his initial introduction in the main narrative, and he will significantly impact Season 3. Concurrently, the Culling Game is an intricate scheme masterminded by Kenjaku, who aims for nothing less than destruction. With Gojo imprisoned within the Realm of Prisons, his disciples must not only figure out a means to rescue him but also confront some of the most potent characters in Jujutsu sorcery’s annals.
