Batman is currently enjoying positive momentum with both James Gunn’s DC projects and the upcoming *The Batman 2* starring Robert Pattinson. However, Barbara Gordon hasn’t had such good fortune recently. There’s a possibility Warner Bros. Discovery might reconsider its decision regarding the previously planned *Batgirl* film, potentially giving the character a chance after all.
Leslie Grace was set to star as Batgirl in a movie planned for HBO Max in 2022, but Warner Bros. unexpectedly cancelled the project, reportedly for financial reasons. Now, there’s renewed hope that the movie might actually be completed and released.
Just to clarify, the *Batgirl* movie wasn’t just being made – it was actually finished. Jacob Scipio, an actor in the film who hasn’t been publicly identified as part of the cast, recently revealed this and believes the completed movie is worth watching.
Scipio described the film as phenomenal and expressed disappointment that it never reached a wider audience, telling *The Direct* that ‘you never know’ if it ever will. He believes the only way the film might be released is if there’s significant public demand for it.
He was really glad they decided to keep *Coyote vs. Acme* going. He said he’s definitely going to buy a ticket and see it himself, which shows there’s always a chance for things to work out in Hollywood. He believes that if enough people express interest, a project can still happen.
Batgirl Fans: Throw Your Batarang
It hasn’t been long since dedicated fans of *Sonic the Hedgehog* reacted strongly to the first trailer for the live-action movie. The initial character design for Sonic was widely criticized, even unsettling to some viewers, and the negative response was immediate and intense. In a rare move, Paramount Studios postponed the film’s release to completely revamp Sonic’s appearance. Now, with three movies released, it’s clear that was an excellent decision.
The animated film *Coyote vs. Acme* faced an unexpected turn when Warner Bros. Discovery initially cancelled it. However, a huge wave of public support, spearheaded by John Cena – a WWE Hall of Famer and star of the movie – reversed that decision, and the film is now scheduled for release in 2026.
For those hoping to see the *Batgirl* movie on HBO Max, keep making your voices heard! There’s a chance James Gunn might be able to help make it happen.
You can now watch *Batwoman*, a DC series connected to the *Arrowverse*, on HBO Max.
