Please be aware that this article contains spoilers for the *Jujutsu Kaisen* manga. The manga series *Jujutsu Kaisen*, created by Gege Akutami, finished its run in September 2024, but the story isn’t over yet! Even though the main story has concluded, there are still many exciting projects in the works for fans, including a third season of the anime. The second season was particularly intense, and things are only going to get more challenging. Season 3 will deal with the fallout from the Shibuya Incident, covering the Itadori Extermination and Perfect Preparation arcs before moving on to the Culling Game. The Itadori Extermination arc will reveal why Yuta Okkotsu is so determined to kill Yuji, and it will also introduce Naoya Zenin, a villain who is both popular and divisive among fans.
The anime trailer only offered a quick peek of the character, making it hard to see his face. As promotion for *Jujutsu Kaisen* Season 3 ramps up, the creators are keeping his appearance and related merchandise mysterious, using only outlines or question marks. Even his voice actor remains a secret, but we might find out who it is after the new *Jujutsu Kaisen* movie comes out in Japan on November 7, 2025.
Who Is Naoya Zenin in Jujutsu Kaisen?
Officials are making Noaya look mysterious

Naoya’s introduction in the manga sparked a lot of debate among fans due to his complex personality. Despite the mixed reactions, he consistently ranked highly in official popularity contests. While manga readers already know him, anime viewers will be seeing him for the first time in the Itadori Extermination Arc. As a member of the Zenin Clan and son of its leader, Naobito Zenin, Naoya possesses incredible power and a unique Cursed Technique. He was considered the natural successor to lead the Clan, especially after his father was seriously injured during the Shibuya Incident Arc.
Naobito didn’t pass on his legacy to his own son; instead, he selected Megumi Fushiguro, a powerful sorcerer known for the Ten Shadows Technique. Naobito’s strategy was to have Megumi lead the clan while Satoru Gojo was unable to intervene, clearing the path for the Zenin Clan to become dominant. Naoya is widely disliked by fans due to his prejudiced and demeaning attitude towards women. This stemmed from his upbringing in the rigidly traditional and male-dominated Zenin Clan, which fueled Maki’s desire to rebel against their expectations and forge her own path.
Despite being a villain, Naoya has gained a large following because many fans see him as the embodiment of everything Gojo opposed within the traditional Jujutsu world. He’ll first appear early in the third season as a smaller threat before the main events of the Culling Game kick off.
