I recently checked out the Logitech G515 LIGHTSPEED TKL, a wireless gaming keyboard that stood out with its sleek, low profile and appealing design. Now, Logitech is adding to that line with a new keyboard called the RAPID TKL.
The RAPID TKL costs more because it uses advanced magnetic switches and includes several new features, but it can’t connect to your devices wirelessly. It’s a unique and visually appealing keyboard.
After using the Logitech G515 RAPID TKL for a few weeks, I feel much the same way about it as I do the wireless version. It’s a good keyboard and a welcome addition to Logitech’s G series, but it doesn’t really offer anything groundbreaking.
Logitech provided us with a sample unit for this review. However, Logitech didn’t have any influence on the review’s content and hadn’t seen it before it was published.
A familiar design with some new tricks

It’s understandable why Logitech is using the G515 design again. This keyboard’s compact layout is comfortable and visually appealing, and its sleek, two-color design fits well with any computer setup.
At a glance, the G515 RAPID TKL looks almost identical to the G515 LIGHTSPEED TKL. However, this model is a bit pricier and has a slightly more high-end feel compared to the LIGHTSPEED version I tested before.
Everything feels more solid and well-made, and I appreciate the small touches, like the uniquely colored WASD keys. Although the RAPID TKL is $10 more expensive than the wireless version, it’s clear there are significant improvements inside.
What advantages do you get with Logitech’s new design instead of standard wireless and a lower price? It features low-profile, magnetic analog switches – a technology similar to what you find in controller thumbsticks. These switches are different from traditional mechanical ones because they can read your input across the full range of movement, not just at a single point.
Magnetic analog switches aren’t for everyone, but serious competitive gamers who want top-level performance will really appreciate them.
These switches are claimed to be more accurate and long-lasting. Plus, they let you customize how sensitive the keys are, with the G515 RAPID TKL offering adjustments as small as 0.1mm. The switches also feature a ‘rapid trigger’ – meaning a key press registers instantly as you start to press it – and prioritize each keystroke for improved responsiveness.
While most users won’t require them, serious competitive gamers who want the highest possible performance will greatly benefit from magnetic analog switches and the enhanced features they offer.
As a researcher, I’ve found that Logitech G Hub really shines when it comes to customization. It lets you personalize things like RGB lighting with a ton of different effects, and you can even program up to two shortcuts for each key. Plus, the onboard profiles are fully customizable, which is a huge benefit. Overall, it creates a really positive experience, particularly for gamers.
Great for gaming, not my favorite for typing

Logitech designed the G515 RAPID TKL to be a high-performance gaming keyboard with a slim profile, and they achieved that goal. It features a familiar design combined with innovative magnetic analog switches, working together very effectively.
The G515 keyboard performs reliably and quickly during gaming, and experienced players will appreciate how customizable it is. However, it’s best suited for people who specifically want a slim, low-profile keyboard, as this design doesn’t fully utilize the potential of its magnetic switches.
The G515 RAPID TKL keyboard’s keys don’t travel very far and require only a light touch, which I think actually hurts its performance for typing. It feels a bit too soft overall, and that’s important to consider since many people use their computers for more than just gaming – things like work, school, and creative projects.
The Logitech G515 RAPID TKL is priced competitively, nearing the cost of higher-end keyboards like the Razer BlackWidow V4 Low-Profile HyperSpeed. While the Razer keyboard doesn’t offer the customizable key sensitivity of the G515, it generally provides more features overall and includes wireless connectivity, which explains its higher price.
G515 RAPID TKL review: My final thoughts

✅You should buy this if …
- You want a low-profile keyboard with adjustable actuation features.
- You don’t mind being connected by a wire.
- You like the two-tone design of the Logitech G515 family.
❌You should not buy this if …
- You need a wireless keyboard.
- You’re looking for an undeniably great value.
I liked the Logitech G515 LIGHTSPEED, but it wasn’t exceptional. The G515 RAPID TKL is similar – it swaps out wireless convenience for faster magnetic switches, and costs a bit more.
If you appreciate the benefits of magnetic switches – especially features like customizable activation points – and want a slim, space-saving keyboard, the G515 RAPID TKL is a great choice. It’s not cheap, but it’s a well-made, high-quality product.
While I appreciate options offering full-sized keys – I’d point someone towards the Keychron K8 HE as a stronger value overall – I genuinely like the Logitech G515 RAPID TKL. I recommend it as a solid, high-performing, low-profile keyboard, especially for gamers who want a competitive edge.
You can get the Logitech G515 RAPID TKL keyboard for $169.99 at BestBuy.com. It’s available in black and white.
