Rumors are circulating that Lana Del Rey might be recording the theme song for the upcoming James Bond video game, 007: First Light. Fans are excited about the possibility of her unique voice being featured in the game.
So, IO Interactive, the team behind the Hitman games, revealed they’re making a new 007 game called 007: First Light. It’s super cool because it’s going to show us how Bond first became an agent – like, his very first missions and how he earned his 00 status. It’s basically an origin story!
Fans started speculating about Lana Del Rey’s potential involvement after noticing she had registered a new song called “First Light” with ASCAP, the organization that protects the rights of songwriters and publishers.
A song with the same name as the new James Bond game appeared online over the weekend, leading fans to speculate it might be the game’s theme song. However, neither Lana Del Rey nor the game developers, IO Interactive, have confirmed this.
Patrick Gibson, known for his role in ‘Original Sin’, will be the next James Bond in the new film, ‘007: First Light’. Priyanga Burford will play M, Alastair Mackenzie will be Q, and Kiera Lester will take on the role of Miss Moneypenny.
Noémie Nakai will play Miss Roth, and Lennie James will play John Greenway, who guides Bond and helps train him during his early missions.

If Lana Del Rey’s song ‘First Light’ is officially used as the game’s theme, it would be a dream come true – a track that almost made it in the past finally getting its moment.
The singer had previously considered submitting a song to the James Bond film Spectre in 2015. She shared that her song ’24,’ from the deluxe version of her Honeymoon album, was initially written hoping it would be a good fit for a Bond movie. However, Sam Smith’s song, ‘Writing’s on the Wall,’ was ultimately selected for the film and later won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
The game 007: First Light will be released on March 27, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
He explained they weren’t aiming to copy previous games, but instead wanted to create something new and unique that truly suited the gaming experience.
