‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Trailer Release Could Be a Winter Warmer for MCU Fans

Marvel fans are buzzing about a potential trailer release, with rumors pointing to a December debut alongside the new Avatar film, Avatar: Fire and Ash.

The news comes from TrailerTrack, who say they’ve heard about potential release dates. There was talk that Marvel Studios might follow Christopher Nolan’s example and release a short preview of Avengers: Doomsday a year before the movie comes out – he did something similar with a brief trailer for The Odyssey earlier this year. That initial plan is still possible, and we might see two Marvel trailers released by the end of the year.

The new Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day, is scheduled to come out in July 2026. Typically, Marvel Studios waits until late winter to begin promoting its films, but because this is the next Marvel Cinematic Universe movie hitting theaters, we might see a trailer sooner. Many are predicting a trailer will be shown alongside Avatar: Fire and Ash, which is expected to be a major blockbuster like the previous Avatar films.

With a big movie like the Avatar sequel coming out, Disney has a great chance to build excitement for Avengers: Doomsday. Usually, several Marvel films would be released beforehand, with trailers timed to promote the next immediate movie. But since Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the only other film Disney is currently promoting, this could be the ideal moment to promote both movies at the same time.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ and ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Can Deliver a Bumper 2026

Marvel Studios made a smart move by releasing only Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024. The film was a big success, becoming one of the most popular Marvel movies since Endgame and helping to address concerns about audiences getting tired of superhero films after a disappointing 2023. However, this year’s other releases – Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps – didn’t perform as well as Marvel has become accustomed to. While The Fantastic Four earned $521.9 million worldwide, making it Marvel’s biggest film of the year, it’s currently only barely in the top 10, ahead of The Conjuring: Last Rites with $482 million.

Marvel is aiming for box office numbers in 2026 that will at least double the approximately $1.3 billion earned by this year’s films. The Spider-Man movies consistently perform exceptionally well – Homecoming grossed $880 million, Far From Home reached $1.13 billion, and No Way Home was a massive hit with $1.9 billion. While No Way Home benefited from a multiverse storyline that brought back popular actors like Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Willem Dafoe, the new film, Brand New Day, should realistically surpass $1 billion in box office revenue during its theatrical release to be considered successful, making it only the third Marvel movie to do so since 2019.

Naturally, Avengers: Doomsday is in a league of its own. No previous Avengers film has earned less than $1 billion at the box office, and given the build-up over the last five years, fans won’t want to delay seeing this one – even if they’re feeling a bit burned out – and wait for it to stream on Disney+.

If Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday perform well, they could reverse recent box office struggles. With Avengers: Secret Wars planned for the following year, Marvel Studios and Disney are likely to see significant profits over the next few years.
