When Is Black Clover’s New Anime Going to Premiere?

The popular “Black Clover” manga is approaching its climax, highlighting some of the most exhilarating moments in the storyline. This series first emerged in 2015 and was followed by an anime adaptation in 2017. Unlike the contemporary method of seasonal anime adaptations, Pierrot opted for a continuous weekly series instead. The early stages of the anime received mixed reviews with average animation quality. However, as time passed, the series gained traction and significantly improved its animation, which was highly praised by fans. By the Elf Reincarnation Arc, “Black Clover” had become one of the most talked-about sensations among shonen fans. Regrettably, producing a long-running series with good pacing and minimal fillers is no simple feat when the manga is still ongoing. Yet, with Pierrot’s transition to a seasonal format, “Black Clover” returned to our screens along with a year and a half’s worth of episodes at its new home on Jump GIGA.

In 2021, Pierrot finished airing weekly episodes for Black Clover, hinting at the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc – a highly acclaimed arc in the series. Despite waiting several years since the manga reached its final arc and moved to Jump GIGA, it wasn’t until recently that an anime sequel was announced. Although the 2023 film “Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King” is set within the series’ universe, it is only canon within the anime and not the manga. The new anime, premiering soon, will continue the story from where its predecessor ended, following the manga’s narrative.

Black Clover’s Anime Sequel Release Window

Although they haven’t specified a definite release date as of now, Crunchyroll’s official YouTube channel unveiled a teaser with the vague message “Coming Soon.” This means we’ll have to wait for more specific updates in the future. Regrettably, even after four years of eager anticipation, the information available about the upcoming sequel remains quite limited.

Currently, there’s no specific date announced for the comeback of Black Clover‘s new anime, but it might return as early as 2026 (if everything goes smoothly). The trailer doesn’t provide additional details about the sequel or potential spoilers, only showcasing a visual of Asta in his Devil Union form. As for the broadcasting schedule, Pierrot hasn’t decided yet whether it will stick to its weekly format or switch to a seasonal one.

What Will Happen in Black Clover’s Anime Sequel?

The animated series adapts the “Heart Kingdom Joint Struggle Arc” and introduces the backbone of its most intense storyline, the “Spade Kingdom Raid.” In the final episodes leading up to the conclusion, characters from the Clover Kingdom and Heart Kingdom are seen readying for a massive assault on Spade Kingdom. Their primary objective is twofold: rescuing Yami Sukehiro and William Vangeance, and thwarting the Dark Triad’s scheme to open a gateway to the Underworld. The antagonists in this arc are known as the Dark Triad – Dante, Vanica, and Zenon Zogratis – who hold high-ranking devils within them, making them some of the most formidable adversaries any hero from Clover or Heart Kingdoms has ever encountered.

We’ll get to see everyone’s hard work pay off, with Asta and Yuno showing remarkable growth. As the struggle against demons unfolds, we’ll delve deeper into Yuno’s abilities, as he grapples with his role as the Spade Kingdom’s prince and seeks vengeance for his father’s death. The anime has so far followed the manga up to Chapter 270, but the Spade Kingdom storyline will extend until Chapter 331. Since we don’t know how many episodes the next season will have, it’s unclear if the anime will fully cover the final chapter of the manga.

Black Clover’s Manga Is Reaching Its Conclusion

The manga’s climactic storyline kicked off in Chapter 332, introducing the most shocking twist yet as the primary antagonist was finally revealed. This chapter marked the start of the final arc in 2022, although a break due to magazine transition in 2023 delayed its conclusion. As GIGA publishes seasonal issues, the epic battle has yet to take place but we’re nearing the grand finale. In the most recent spring issue, Lucius has shown his true form, and it now falls on Asta and Yuno to vanquish the villain.

In this upcoming battle, we’ll face the villain whose forces of Paladins have been vanquished. The only task left is to vanquish him personally. It sounds straightforward, but it’s a challenge given his powers surpass those of any ordinary being. As for the exact date of the manga finale, it hasn’t been disclosed yet, though it might occur before the anime debut. This timing would benefit the studio, allowing them to concentrate on adapting the remaining storyline without delay due to quarterly releases.
