Colleen Hoover, an American author, has become incredibly popular in recent years. Following the success of the 2024 film adaptation of her novel, It Ends with Us, several of her other books are now being considered for film and television adaptations.
Hoover’s 2019 novel, Regretting You, is now a movie hitting theaters this Friday, October 24th. Directed by Josh Boone, who also directed The Fault in Our Stars, the film tells the story of a mother and daughter who constantly argue, and whose lives are forever altered by a tragic event.
Because this story relies so heavily on its characters, it was crucial that the actors had good chemistry, and Mckenna Grace and Mason Thames really delivered. Grace recently told Access Hollywood they even shared some unscripted kisses during filming.

Allison Williams plays Morgan Grant
Who is Morgan Grant? Morgan is Clara’s mother and Chris’s wife.
Many people recognize Allison Williams from her early work with the comedy group Just Add Water. She gained wider recognition starring in the Netflix series Girls and has since appeared in shows like A Series of Unfortunate Events and Fellow Travelers, as well as the popular films Get Out and the M3GAN series.
Mckenna Grace plays Clara Grant
Who is Clara Grant? Clara is the child of Morgan and Chris, who has a romantic interest in Miller.
Mckenna Grace started acting when she was very young, with one of her early roles being young Tonya Harding in I, Tonya. Since then, she’s appeared in a number of popular projects, including Captain Marvel, Fuller House, both Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, The Haunting of Hill House, and The Handmaid’s Tale.
Dave Franco plays Jonah Sullivan
Who is Jonah Sullivan? Jonah is Morgan’s brother-in-law and complex friend.
Besides his recent work in the horror film Together with his wife, Alison Brie, Dave Franco has appeared in several popular movies. He started with a role in Superbad, and has also been in the 21 Jump Street films and The LEGO Movie. He’s particularly well-known for portraying Greg Sestero in The Disaster Artist, a film directed by his brother, James Franco.
Mason Thames plays Miller Adams
Who is Miller Adams? Miller is Clara’s love interest.
You might recognize Mason Thames from his roles in the movies The Black Phone (and its recent sequel). He’s also set to star as Hiccup in the upcoming live-action How to Train Your Dragon film, taking over the role from Jay Baruchel.
Scott Eastwood plays Chris Grant
Who is Chris Grant? Chris is husband to Morgan and father to Clara.
You might recognize Scott Eastwood from movies like Suicide Squad (2016), several of the Fast & Furious films (including the new Fast X), and Pacific Rim Uprising.
Willa Fitzgerald plays Jenny Davidson
Who is Jenny Davidson? Jenny is Morgan’s sister and best friend.
You might recognize Willa Fitzgerald from her work in the film Strange Darling, or from TV shows like Gotham, House of Cards, and The Fall of the House of Usher.
Clancy Brown plays Gramps
Who is Gramps? Hank “Gramps” Adams Sr is Miller’s grandfather.
Clancy Brown has a long and successful career as both an actor and voice actor. He’s voiced many characters, including Savage Opress in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Lex Luthor in LEGO Batman games and the movie. He’s also been in numerous films and TV shows, with recent roles in The Penguin and John Wick: Chapter 4.
Sam Morelos plays Lexie
Who is Lexie? Lexie is Clara’s best friend.
You probably know Sam Morelos from their role as Nikki in That ’90s Show. They’ve also been in Descendants: The Rise of Red, and have acted in several independent short films.
