The Director’s Cut of Death Stranding on PS5 now works with the console’s Power Saver mode. Using this mode lowers the game’s graphical settings and frame rate to reduce energy consumption.
Death Stranding also received a small update today. Weighing in at 4.083GB, Update 1.010 adds a Power Saver mode and includes Mandarin Chinese as a new audio language option. Both updates are available for download now.

There’s a strong rumor that the PS5’s upcoming Power Saver mode is being designed with a future handheld device in mind – one Sony might release alongside the PS6. This mode would reportedly reduce the console’s power, allowing games like Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, and Demon’s Souls to run directly on the handheld. With the PS6 potentially launching in 2027, we might get official details about this within the next year.
