Enjoying Tom Daley on The Celebrity Traitors? He’s got a new show coming to Channel 4 soon, so you won’t have to miss him on TV!
Britain’s Best Knitter, hosted by a celebrated Olympian, is a new competition series where ten talented knitters will face tough challenges. The goal? To be crowned the UK’s first-ever TV knitting champion. This marks the Olympian’s first major role as a presenter.
This new eight-episode show is part of a wave of comforting TV as it searches for the best in Britain. It premieres on Channel 4 on Sunday, November 2nd at 8pm.
Each episode of the show takes place in the beautiful Scottish countryside. The knitters will face two challenges: a team project where they collaborate on something complicated, and a solo task designed to showcase their individual knitting skills and abilities.
Every week, the contestants will be challenged to design and build impressive, oversized sculptures and practical items – everything from clothes and jewelry to furniture – all using wool.

Daley won’t be the only one evaluating the knitters. Artists Di Gilpin and Sheila Greenwell will be judging their creativity and skill, respectively.
Daley expressed excitement and a little nervousness about hosting the new series, calling it a dream project because it combines all of their passions. They’re a big fan of knitting and hope others will try it too!
I’m so excited to see what our knitters create, and I hope it encourages others to start knitting as well!
Wendy Rattray, the show’s executive producer, also expressed her excitement about Tom hosting. She believes he’s a perfect choice, as he’s become just as well-known for his knitting as he is for his Olympic diving!
Knitting is for everyone, and Tom represents a growing number of people – a new generation – who are discovering the joy and creativity it offers.
