Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Unveils First Look At Its New Villain

Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. The third season of Jujutsu Kaisen is almost here, and the promotional campaign is now in full gear! After a wait of over two years, the trailer promises another amazing season from MAPPA. Next month, a special worldwide screening will show a compilation of the Shibuya Incident, followed by the first two episodes of season three. On October 23rd, a new promotional video for the film was released, and the character design for Naoya Zenin was revealed on the official anime website.

The trailer offered only a quick peek at the character Naoya, making it hard to get a clear idea of his appearance. The anime creators have been intentionally keeping his design a secret for months to build excitement among viewers who haven’t read the manga. While fans of the manga already know Naoya, he’ll be new to anime-only viewers. We don’t yet know who will voice him, but we might find out before the third season begins in January 2026.

Who Is Naoya Zenin in Jujutsu Kaisen?

Naoya is a highly anticipated new character in the upcoming anime season, though he’s also known for being divisive. Before the season focuses on the main storyline, “The Culling Game,” it will cover Itadori’s missions to eliminate threats and prepare for what’s ahead, and Naoya will appear in both of these story arcs. He’s a member of the Zenin Clan, but he’s a particularly powerful and unique sorcerer.

Though the youngest son, Naobito Zenin was incredibly skilled and considered a strong candidate to lead the Zenin clan. He was assigned to a dangerous mission during the Shibuya Incident, tasked with defeating Kenjaku and the Disaster Curses. Alongside Kento Nanami and Maki Zenin, he fought Dagon and narrowly escaped with his life, aided by a revived Toji Fushiguro. Sadly, after escaping, he was fatally burned by Jogo, along with Nanami and Maki.

Naobito died from his injuries, and Naoya believed he would be chosen as the new leader. However, his father’s final choice left him feeling shocked and betrayed. While many fans dislike Naoya for his negative portrayal of women, others appreciate his villainous side. This mixed reaction has kept him consistently popular since he first appeared, and it looks like opinions will remain divided. Even before the third season airs, Naoya is already generating a lot of excitement. The new season promises plenty of action and will introduce several new characters, some who will help the sorcerers and others who will oppose them.
