On Monday, July 7th, 2025, at 4 PM, the results from our monthly gaming poll have been tallied. Can you imagine which PlayStation 5 game emerged victorious?
Ultimately, our survey revealed a clear winner: Death Stranding 2 swept the poll with an overwhelming victory. While some might contest that the competition was limited, it’s hard not to be impressed by the exceptional quality demonstrated by Kojima Productions in their sequel.
Approximately 800 votes were tallied in the recently concluded poll on Push Square, which went live a week ago. The following are the top five PlayStation 5 games for the month, as chosen by our community:
1. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
2. Resident Evil Village
3. Returnal
4. Sackboy A Big Adventure
5. Little Devil Inside
“Close to 800 votes were cast in the aforementioned poll, which was published last week here on Push Square. These were the top five PS5 games of the month as voted by our community.”)
- Death Stranding 2: On the Beach – 545 votes (72%)
- Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army – 65 votes (9%)
- Rematch – 56 votes (7%)
- The Alters – 33 votes (4%)
- Date Everything – 15 votes (2%)
Initially, Death Stranding sparked quite a debate due to its unique and often peculiar aspects such as its setting, narrative style, and game mechanics. Undoubtedly, Death Stranding 2 is likely to evoke similar feelings of admiration and criticism among players.
Similarly, we’ve been emphasizing that this follow-up significantly expands upon almost every aspect that the 2019 original presented; it’s a remarkable feat in virtually every category.
As we’ve continually pointed out, the sequel enhances nearly everything that its 2019 predecessor laid out; it’s an incredible accomplishment across the entire spectrum.
In our review for Death Stranding 2 on the PS5, we enthusiastically described it as a “masterwork in every aspect.” This game was exceptionally well-received, even earning a highly unusual perfect score of 10/10 from Push Square.
Hearty congratulations to Kojima Productions and Death Stranding 2 on their well-deserved victory! We can only imagine how thrilled Sam must feel.
This month, June, has seen a relatively low number of new releases compared to other months this year, with significant titles like Death Stranding 2 being the main exception. There were few major releases with large budgets to speak of.
Instead of stating that June was lacking in quality, it would be unfair because games like Rematch, such as the addictive soccer simulator from Sifu developer SloClap, have shown to be quite the opposite. In fact, Rematch has been a remarkable demonstration of a fantastic idea executed with charisma and assurance. This game, which has become incredibly popular in multiplayer mode, turned out to be one of the standout titles of 2025, making it a breakout hit.
Personally, diving into the revamped world of Raidou Remastered felt like stepping back in time to my old PS2 days, courtesy of Atlus. With improved graphics, new content, and a polished gameplay experience, it’s a well-deserved reprise for what has long been hailed as a cult classic by gamers like myself.
In addition to the notable titles you mentioned, let me also highlight The Alters and Date Everything. Both games are captivating due to their engaging narrative elements and innovative gameplay mechanics. The Alters presents an intriguing clone-based survival management simulation, while Date Everything offers a distinctive perspective on romantic visual novels.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but reflect on Death Stranding 2. This upcoming masterpiece is undeniably poised to be a frontrunner for Game of the Year. Without a doubt, Kojima Production’s sequel will set an incredibly high bar in this month’s Game of the Month contest.
