Whitney Purvis is facing legal trouble.
According to reports from TopMob News, the former star of “16 and Pregnant” was taken into custody in Floyd County, Georgia on July 7, charged with involuntary manslaughter by local authorities.
As per information from TopMob News about criminal accusations given by police, Purvis is charged with two offenses linked to controlled substances. The first allegation is a felony charge concerning the possession of a controlled substance with the intention to distribute it. The second charge is a misdemeanor for utilizing a communication facility in the commission of a felony involving controlled substances.
According to an affidavit secured by TopMob News, the arrest at hand is connected to an event that transpired on February 16.
The affidavit states that Whitney Blake Purvis was found guilty of Aggravated Involuntary Manslaughter. This occurred when she intentionally provided a substance labeled as ‘Tranq,’ which is a mixture of Xylazine and Fentanyl, to the victim without intending to cause their death. However, this action led directly to the victim’s demise due to a lethal overdose.
At the time this article was published, no bail had been established for the ex-MTV star. We’ve attempted to contact the Rome Police for further details, but have yet to receive any additional comments.
Purvis was recently apprehended, approximately a month after she announced the death of her 16-year-old son, Weston Gosa Jr., on June 2nd. Over the subsequent weeks, she revealed more details about his passing, including an allegation that Weston Gosa, Weston’s father and her ex, might have been able to prevent his demise by taking appropriate action.

In a June 18 Facebook post, Purvis stated, “My son suffered from diabetes, Addison’s disease, and alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, yet he didn’t have any health insurance. However, he did have a life insurance policy that his father had purchased for him. Despite buying five cars within the past six months, his father was unable to afford medical insurance.
She stated, “He boasts about his wealth and audaciously sets up a GoFundMe for his funeral expenses, even though he intended to cremate him due to cost reasons and already had a life insurance policy covering those costs.
According to Purvis, her son was entitled to health insurance through the custody agreement with her ex, as they both are parents of an 11-year-old boy named River.

Purvis emphasized the need for him to use a continuous glucose monitor that would warn when his sugar levels were becoming dangerously high or low. He also pointed out that, as per our custody arrangement, he should have been providing medical insurance for our children. This oversight feels troubling to me.
TopMob News reached out to Gosa for comment at the time but has not heard back.
Prior to her arrest, Purvis shared insight into how she was managing following Weston’s death.
In an interview with People, published on June 5th, she shared that she finds it challenging to divert her thoughts. They’re always on her mind, and even the thought of using her phone is something she dislikes.
When I’m not lost in thought, I find myself gazing at the ceiling,” she went on, “I never envisioned experiencing something as difficult as this. It’s something that no one wants to face, but it always seems unimaginable until it happens. Now, I can hardly conceive of a future beyond this ordeal. I struggle to picture moving forward after this.
